Hard Drive
Well, I need a new hard drive. Aiming for 160GB minimum, 500GB max. Internal or external. Any deals (either in Canada or the US)?
CompUSA, 160 GB External, $50 after rebates.

No B&M stores near me, so is this online?

Look at the Best Buy and Circuit and Staples ads in the Sunday paper everyweek. Someone always has a decent deal.

I got a 250 gig Seagate at CC a couple months ago for $50 AR.

A friend of mine works at a thrift-type non-profit store which gets a lot of wholesale merchandise in. I fixed up his computer for him so he's helping me buy some 500GB hdds when they come in, probably in the next few days. He's not sure what his discount will be but it's going to be roughly $50 each, I don't know how many I'll be able to snag but if you're interested I might be able to help you out. That, or I might be willing to sell/trade one of my old drives that I'm replacing w/ the 500.

Well for an external, Newegg's got the 500gb maxtor for $149 and shipping. Can't go wrong if your lazy like I :D

Starting to look for a Internal IDE for my PS2. So I'm going to keep an eye on this thread.

EDIT: Just found a Seagate for $107 @ Best Buy. It's 400 GB.

Model: ST3400632A

I should also mention that I don't want to deal with rebates.
I need a HD as well. This time in the 250-500 GB market range though. Anybody have any deals without rebates?
No
are you looking for a new HD because u downloaded that program that messed up ur pc?
It's much larger than any of you asked for but I just saw this and thought someone might jump on it. This is probably the best price I've ever seen on a 1TB external!

It's about $.30/GB.

Here's a 500GB external... it's $145 and also has a $17 rebate. Great price even without the rebate. You could use (or *ahem* re-use) new $10 off for Google Checkout users for make it even cheaper.

All of these were ripped form FW.

It would have to be one nasty program to not be fixable by reformat.

Hey, wanted to let you know that my hook-up kinda fell through. He called me when the hdd's came in, but I missed it, and it was from a work # which put me through to a recording. Since he didn't know how many I wanted, I only got 1 hdd, so I don't have anything to swap.

I'm interested in the 500GB if you're selling it.

I'm curious . . . I haven't been here in a while, and I'm wondering why next week's ads aren't here. Am I not looking hard enough?

Regardless, I just got the 250 Western Digital external harddrive from Circuit City for $80 after rebates, though I'm probably going to wait until tomorrow to open it since there might be better deals. If the ads were available *here* then I wouldn't have to wait, though . . . .
