Ran across this on Amazon.com, via Blu-Ray.com:

It's at $349.99 with a MSRP of $499.99.

My first thought was all the UCE versions of the Potter films, though it looks like it might be that and more.

From a random post on Blu-Ray.com in their thread for all the UCE versions of the HP movies:

[quote name='From Blu-Ray.com']This looks like the definitive collection announced last year. Theres no way in hell I would spend 350 on this.

Guess this is the uber-box everyone's been waiting on?

This thing is pretty crazy, I have not purchased any of the other discs as I knew they would release something like this, but this is pretty expensive. I don't even know where I would put it.

My concerns with this set are:
1. The discs will probably be in cardboard sleeves instead of proper cases
2. The lithographs will be very small (not suitable for framing)
3. The art book might just have content copied over from the Harry Potter: From Page to Screen book

Hopefully, I'm proven wrong. If not, I at least have the Amazon UK Harry Potter collection from this past December.

I hate to say it, but if if all the extras are just "paper" then I think it's a bit of a ripoff. I've been holding out for this version but could see myself getting all the standard SEs if they don't reveal some better extras to cover what would likely be a 120 dollar difference.

Here's hoping.

Here's a link to the official website. September release.

Gotta admit the collection looks nice. I'll keep my single disc blu rays for now, maybe down the road for around 150.

It's a Jokes! Only 1st 2 movies is extended cut version & the rest is crappy with extras with MSRP $500!!! Soon they'll re-release all 6th movies with extended cut version. GREED is BAD!!!

So I went through the checkout process at Amazon UK, and the total with shipping is $261US. That's a full $89 cheaper than getting it at amazon.com

This is now down to $239US shipped. Which is now $110 cheaper than the US version. Again note that the DVD's are in PAL format.

This is kinda cool, $350 is insane though. And I know by the time these reach say $150-225 they will sell like hot cakes.

A solid 20 pound case is nice, but just need to keep updated on when these clearance

Easily one of the, if not the, coolest looking box sets I've ever seen. I really like how there were hidden compartments and stuff. There are only a few issues I have with it.

1. Where the hell do you store this thing? It needs an area all for itself.
2. The movies don't have cases that match other BR cases, but that is normal for box sets. At least these all look like books so if you just have them next to one another on their own shelf it should look nice.
3. The main issue, price. Is it worth $350....not unless you are a die hard Potter fan. I read all the books and saw all the movies and enjoyed them a lot, but not enough to spend $350 on this. Considering it was under $50 for all 8 films from amazon uk. Of course those did not include the 3D versions or the bonus features like this set does. But are those things worth $300...hard to say.

Also, aren't there uber editions of each movie out or coming out that are not in this set?

You could put the box on the shelf and just pull out the whole thing when you wanna watch one of them. That's what I do with my Buffy set.

But yeah, I wouldn't say it's worth buying this for more than $200 unless you're a die-hard Potter fan.

That said, I really, really hope it drops to $200 or less before it sells out so I can justify a purchase.

I'm with you. I read a few books and loved the films but this set is too rich for my muggle blood. I bought the Amazon uk set for forty something bucks and the Deathly Hallows 2 3D bluray at Best Buy for $9.99. I'll be happy watching those for the foreseeable future. This giant $499.99 MSRP set is going to go out of print before I can ever afford it.

See if they release the 7.1 and 7.2 in ultimate editions, I will get those until this gets down to like $100....otherwise this may be a $175 kinda buy

Really? Is this a Target Exclusive? I've seen October dates for these otherwise and at the current prices for UE's I really think I'll get those instead. Probably even prefer the packaging.

Was so pumped about this though....
