I'm about to go to my local store and get them to take the cases out. Bringing the receipt and box with me of course. I'm guessing this doesn't normally happen lol. I got a notification while they were shipping that it was delayed, surprised they didn't try to take them off.

that's adorable.

Someone on my girlfriends facebook posted some running shoes they bough from Dicks that had the security tag attached. But I think this is a bit more special since both copies are in the case.

I didn't even know Sears sold games in cases like that. Always thought it was just the cage that they locked them up in.

Good news. Got them out. The guys in the electronics department struggled at first because they were different from the cases they normally use. Glad I didn't have to return them as I only paid around $7 for each one on BF :)

I think that would have been pretty fun to get open yourself. Because in this case, it's legal. Like trying to find a way to open a secretly locked treasure chest.

But really, who would be dumb enough to ship those like that. I wonder how people even get these jobs.

Years ago I bought 4 or 5 games at Sears and when walking away from the register, I noticed one game still had the security case and went back to the register and the cashier told me it's included with the game. I had to explain it was a security case. This past summer, the same thing happened with 2 DS games I bought at Sears but this time I noticed it before I walked away from the register. It must be a Sears thing.

I wouldnt even have taken them back. Had it been a game im in a rush to play I would have gotten
the games out on my own without damaging the game.

but yeah still should have been done by the retailer based on principle.

Reminds me of that hard plastic frame that surrounded a case of a CD. I remember buying a budget PS1 game from Toys 'R Us when I was younger. I asked them to remove it and they gave me pretty much the same explanation.

Edit: Google says they were called "blister packs" or a type of one.

One time when PMing stuff at Target the CS person forgot to get the games out of the plastic case they had put them in.  Thankfully I realized it when I got out to the car and not after I had gone home.

I haven't ordered anything from Sears (yet), so I've never encountered something like that. But if it came in like that, I'd open it myself. Unfortunately, the nearest Sears store is 30 minutes from me, which is too much gas to burn just to get those things out. That's why Dremel tools were invented. ;)
