Haunting Ground for cheap
Where's the cheapest place to find this game? The best price I have found so far is http://www.gamequestdirect.com for $31.50 shipped. Also if any of you have played it chime in with your thoughts.
Great game. It's one of those overlooked gems that people don't appreciate unti it's $90 on Ebay. The story is fantastic, with really heavy sinister and sexual overtones(Toward Fiona, especially in regard to one very large and deformed enemy that seems to rape her when you get taken down by him. Complete with his moaning and squishing sounds), and there is always a sense that you're severely outmatched. This makes you more connected to Fiona(the main character) and appreciate Huey (the only chance you have of survival). It's very much like Clocktower in that you will be moving through a seciton of the castle, solving puzzles etc. while evading a "stalker" who's out to kill you. The game isn't REALLY difficult, but early on you'll probably get schooled, and some of the puzzles are kind of obscure. The game is REALLY heavy on audio cues to let you knwo what's going down. Normally, there ill be a spooky tune as you wander through whichever area you happen to be in, but if a stalker gets close to you, the music will stop. If the stalker is only one or two rooms from you, Huey will hunch down and begin to growl, which is your cue to hide or try and escape. If you evade the stalker, the only real safe time to come out is when the ambiaent tune kicks back up, so be careful. Oh, and did I mention there's NO room to room loading? The only loading screen (outside of cinemas" is when you load your file. Highly recommended.

That's probably your best bet, or a used one from Gamefly. I doubt you'll find one in Toys R Us. I was going to get it for $40 from TRU then found out the $10 price was coming up in a week so I got greedy and waited and sure enough I couldn't get one. Seems like a rare game because I couldn't find another one in a few other stores I checked.

I ended up buying it from ebay for $21 shipped (buy it now) but that was right after the TRU sale and they were flooded with cheap copies. You can either wait for a fluke sale and hope to get it cheaper or suck it up and pay $30 or get it from ebay or gamefly a bit cheaper. If you want it sealed you might have to pay close to $30.

I did enjoy the game, I think it's worth $30.

No TRU's in the area had it. As I'm walking through Circuit City I happen to come across it. The price is $39.99. After some sweet talking I was able to get a price match for what it was at Game Quest. So after tax I was able to walk away with it for $26.49. Not as good a deal as TRU but I'll take it. :) I also Picked up Viewtiful Joe 2 for $6.00 Thanks for your help everyone. Soon as I play it I'll post my impressions in the PS2 forum.
