I bet the server outage and update messed with it.
If you use the "Advanced Search", you can sort the results in many different ways.

If you select "Last Posting Date" as your sort criteria, the search results from the trading forum are still out of order. I searched for Mass Effect using "Last Posting Date" and "in Descending Order" on the advanced search. The results were not in order based on the last post. There were threads that were updated today listed on the last page of the search.
