HAWX BB w/Target PM + RZ:GC $10 off = $29.99, Today Only! YMMV

I'm going to try this today for HAWX. If you are a Best Buy Reward Zone Gamer Club member, there is a coupon on the RZGC website that ends today 4/05/09. The coupon gives you $10 off HAWX for 360, PS3, and PC.

Target has HAWX on sale for $39.99. I will price match Target at BB and use this coupon to get HAWX for $29.99. I hope this works. :D

This is ymmv btw. Most of the times when you pm stores wont let you stack a coupon ontop of the pricematch.

I thought that might be the case, but since it is a RZGC coupon, I thought BB might honor it. I will edit the title, thanks.

Yeah unless its like rewards money you earned thats fine but coupons are ymmv. I work in retail(staples) and ever time some tries to do this the manager says one or the other but not both. When i worked at kmart and ciruit city it was the same thing. This is only why iam saying this from 1st hand experinece.

Love the thread title. So many acronyms, not a price to be found.

I thought about trying this with a PM to Fry's, which would be $28.99 after PM/coupon, but it's very unlikely to work.

Extreme YMMV on this one.

Tried it at two diff BBs.

One BB scanned the coupon first, did the price match, and then applied the coupon at the end of the sale. No go, still 39.99 after price match.

Second BB, did price match first and then scanned/applied coupon after price match was done. Still no go, still 39.99 after price match.

Hopefully, this means a new set of RZ coupons tomorrow since a bunch are expiring today.

Actually, it's not YMMV. YMMV means, "I got it to work, you may not." Nobody has reported that they were successful in getting this "deal." So our "mileage" won't vary at all. It's a very predictable zero, so far. :)

Yeah, that's why I called it "Extreme" YMMV. I bet one lucky CAG finds a BB who will honor the deal. It's possible, but highly unlikely IMO.

Last year, got lucky with this same type of deal (diff game obviously) where the manager honored the price match and accepted a BB coupon that took $5 off on top of the price match.

True. But they problably just did a manual overide and entered the amount.

I had the samething happen to me earlier this year with a CompUsa coupon and the manager did the match although he said they usually don't do it for coupons. He didn't even take my coupon he just did the price manually and that's it.

Yep, that's exactly what happened at this BB. Manual override to take the coupon into account. On the receipt it just showed up as price match, but the mgr made a copy of the flyer and kept the coupon.

I doubt the deal in the OP will workout without some sort of similar manual override and the kindness of a BB mgr.

IF the system takes off $10 when scanning the coupon after the PM, this might be a little easier. However, no manager in the world would manually PM you and then manually deduct $10 since the coupon didn't "scan" after the PM.
