No, not really. The PQ is better than the SD version, but it's not a mind blowing difference by any means.

I wouldn't really suggest buying the HD version if you have the SD already, but you would be better off getting the HD version if you have neither.

Everyone should buy Fletch.
 
My first order completed on 05/26, but I still have not got it yet. Has anyone else's order taken that long? I live in Texas. My friend ordered the business day before I ordered, and he got his last week.

Ok, I just got an email saying my order updated, but they removed Fast Times and Animal House. Which makes no fucking sense since apparently the order has been "complete" since 5/26. Those two titles have been in stock for the past two weeks, but now that they're out of stock they decide to remove it from my order.

well I bought The fast and the furious HD-DVD got it last week, I didn't know I was going to get the combo disc so when I got I was like cool, anyways I'm using the Xbox hd-dvd on my pc the problem is that it will not play the Hd version it only plays the regular version. When Im playing the regular version it tells me to flip the dvd to watch the HD-DVD version but I get "No Disc Found". All the HD movies I have play fine. Any ideas?

Only HD DVDs I see now are season and multiple movie packs and all 3 are sold out. Didn't realize that they sell games, too, also everything listed is sold out.

Actually, every page I've looked at including regular DVDs says OOS for all items.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered The Watcher, and they sent me The War. I e-mailed them and got no reply. I was going to call, but I actually like The War, too, so I figured it would probably be worth it just to keep it, rather than deal with these people. Their service is not all that good.

Same thing happened to me on the same movie heh. Chuck & Larry is giving me problems too. Seems like a common problem with combo versions of the disc. See if you can find a support number for Universal Studios.

Id keep Cinderella Man... if I didnt have it already... good movie, but so is Children of men... their service sucks

Indeed. Their poor service, coupled with the dual-language covers, kept me from ordering any more stuff from them, even when they had the free shipping offer.

And yes, Children of Men is great. It's one of the movies I got in this deal. I hope you eventually get what you want.
 
You have to update the HD DVD firmware. Just hook your 360 to the Internet and put in the F&F HD DVD side and it will show you that there is an update available and after you do that everything is going to be fantastic and working 200% and you will be :bouncy:

My 360 is connected to the internet. I don't get an option to update I just get a "Can't read disc" error. :cry: I'm pretty sure I already have the latest firmware cause I remember getting an automatic update when I bought the player.
 
i was trying to get a whole bunch of movies...mostly combos for 5.99 and 7.99 but shipping was $18!!!! >.< i'll have to pass until next time.

I am sorry, but I told you what I exactly experienced. I thought it was DOA but after connecting to XBL, I updated the thing and it worked like a charm :D
 
People you have to clear out the old files from the hard drive. 99% of the time people are having problems with hddvd player is when the updates from the hddvd actually don't finish fully and leave corrupted data. The corrupt data prevent movies with special menus from loading... I kid you not. I had this problem with knocked up. It played but installed currupt data that prevented movies that used that menu from working correctly. Just to clarify I am not talking about the xbox live updates I am talking about the menu based updates that are on particular discs... If you have seen a disc installing the first time you start it ...that is what I am talking about.

Yeah, just access the memory function on the dashboard and click the hd dvd players memory. Delete all that. Upadte the HD DVD PLAYS firmware first. Then go into the settings of the hd dvd player and tell it to no longer access the internet. That will stop it form doing all these unnecessary title updates which are usually the cause of the problems.

When did you order them? I put in an order last week Saturday and got a shipping notice last Monday. Amazon's practically overnight shipping has ruined my expectations.
 
I ordered one set of movies through the canadian site, one through the US site. The Canadian movies never came, and I'm trying to deal with their customer service on it. They are being pretty slow in helping out so far.

Unfortunately, their service is extremely slow and extremely inefficient. Like I said earlier in the thread, it kept me from ordering from them again.
 
Got my 4 movies and Heroes season 1 box today (the 16th); ordered
on the 9th with free shipping. They came from the Canadian store in spite of ordering from the .com. Multilingual covers don't bother me tho; they can provide my regular discs with a buffer from the amazon.fr discs I bought.
 
I ordered last Tuesday, shipped Thursday, and just received my order today, Monday. It came from Canada. I got my 6 movies and 2 PS2 games.
 
I ordered last Sunday and they showed up yesterday (Monday)
I got 8 HD DVD's for $51.00
$5.99 each. On Blu same movie will be running $20.00-$30.00 so very good value.
Not too bad. Dead format or not they are still great quality discs.
 
Also got my order yesterday. 9 HD-DVDs, $5.99 each. Perfect condition for each, though most have French on them, but I don't mind really. Speedy shipping considering it was free from a small site.
 
Yep. True to form my package arrived the day after I start asking about it on the site. Ordered last Monday arrived today. Only one of my movies has any French on the actual packaging.

So, those of you who are worried about that Hollywoodland, Lost in Translation, Happy Gilmore, You Me & Dupree, Doom, Dazed and Confused, and Alpha Dog are French free. Miami Vice has the title in English and French on the cover and spine.
 
Finally got confirmation on my wrong title replacement by going online with their chat, said my movie was sent out last week... wish I had been sent some sort of email though
