HDTV need help

CAGiversary!
I am looking for a tv for my basement to hook up my ps4 to. Can anyone help me with finding a deal on a tv. I am looking for a 42 or above leaning more towards a 55 though.

How much are you looking to spend.

There is a Panasonic 42" or Samsung 43" plasma you can get at Sears for around $400.

Both are pretty excellent TVs.

Let me know a budget and I can help find you a TV.

Nice, we got a lot to work with. You should be able to buy all but the highest end 55 inch TVs.

Do you want SmartTV features?

You buying at a store on online?

The reason I ask, when I bought mine, Sears was cool enough to let me plug my PS3 in to see how it worked as far as input lag was concerned.

I always recommend Costco if you have the option to shop for an HDTV.  2 Year warranty standard, and you can buy an extended warranty up to 5 years (it's pretty cheap, around $30-60 depending on the sale price).  They also have a 90 day return policy if you aren't happy with the TV for any reason.

Second this. Also, I think the 51' samsung plasma is on sale at BJs for $599.

Dont think i really need a smart tv since I will have a ps4 plugged into it. I don't have a local costco in my area I have a sams club thats closest thing i can think off. I have been looking at online stores such as newegg and tigerdirect and woot.

AWD is always a good option if you don't mind buying used. Otherwise I would setup an alert on slickdeals and wait for deals to pop up. Keep in mind that most new TV models will release in the spring so you might be able to get a deal on last year's model.

Vizio is also a very good affordable option.

A few other questions:

1) How far will you be sitting from the TV?

2) What else would be hooked to the TV besides the PS4?

3) Is the primary use of the TV going to be PS4 gameplay?
