No offense to anyone, but plasma... seriously... I'm surprised they still make those things.
LCD's advantages, no glare (unless you buy the new sammy's which have worse glare than plasma's), slightly lighter, consume a bit less power
remind me how those are huge advantages when watching tv?
burn-in is gone on plasma (not saying it can't happen but it's 99% likely not to if you buy a new one), not to mention it handles high speed motion much better (this is huge for games and sports), has better picture quality (more lifelike images and better color) and offers a bigger picture for a lower price (so a better picture for a lower price??? no brainer here)
im pretty sure when it comes down to it, the biggest thing with a tv is the picture, and well plasma's still win hands down (unless you need a hdtv smaller than 42", then you shouldn't be purchasing an LCD, even the new Sony XBR4's images don't match plasma's, even though it's the closest any LCD has come....and the cheapest one is the 40" version which retails for $2400)
people have become brainwashed by dumb ass store employees or LCD backers like sony, etc....more companies are behind LCD because there's a bigger turn-around profit for them in manufacturing LCD's as opposed to plasma's
