Headphone question

CAGiversary!
I am nocturnal. I work nights and like to play video games in my time off. The trouble is my hearing isn't the best and I live in an apartment with paper thin walls. So if I turn up my tv loud enough for me to hear I wake the neighbors. Soooo what I need to figure out is how to get my tv to work with my headphones. I have a crappy standard def. tv and a cheap Pelican system selector.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks.

Thing is you'd need an amplifier/stereo to pass sound through to your headphones or a headphone with included amp kit. usually the wireless setups have em.

:shrugs: I'm using my headphones directly hooked up to the 360 vga cable sound outputs right now. Loud enough for me unless you're that deaf.
IDK what kind of budget you have, but I'm personally waiting for reviews on Turtle Beach's new Wireless X3 headset:

Same here. I have the Turtle Beach Earforce X2s, and my only complaint with them is that you can't control the volume of chat independently from game sounds, which is one of the new features in the new X3s.

spend some time over at http://www.headwize.com

theyve got tons of info & forums w/ helpful friendly ppl.

for $100 i'd suggest the Sennheiser HD280 Pro. i have a pair and the audio quality is like nothing youve ever heard. they have a MSRP of $200, but its common to find them for $99. looks like office depot has them for 85 bucks

also, be extra careful when using closed earcup headphones. its easy to turn it up too loud, and if you already have bad hearing you dont want to make it worse.
I'm assuming there's no headphone jack on your tv... you should probably invest in a tv with one.
well as long as it has some kind of audio output. there are RCA -> stereo (headphone) female connectors you can get at any radio shack.
