With the demo now out for Heavenly Sword I thought I'd search around for the best pre-order price. Here's what I came up with...

Heavenly Sword for $49.97 at FamilyVideo.com

Use Coupon Code NEWPGMEM to take $5 off for new members (code is verified as working) or Coupon Code NEWMEM3F to take $3 off for return customers (I have not personally tried this code yet, but it should work).

Shipping is $0.99.

New members total is $45.96 shipped...return customers would be $47.96 shipped.

Amazon.com doesn't have a price yet, but judging by the fact that Assasin's Creed is $59.99 I'd expect it to be around the same price. I also checked LionGames and didn't see anything on Tony's site yet either so if you really feel like getting ahead of the game this seems like the way to go.
Not sure why everyone was in a rush to go buy this game considering how short it reportedly is.
I don't think rush was an issue. I think it was the fact new FV members could get this game for like $43. That's why a lot of people wanted to, but didn't cancel. The price was too good. Hence the swap-and-return scams mentioned earlier.
Not sure why everyone was in a rush to go buy this game considering how short it reportedly is. Also a bit unfair to slam these guys with cancelations soon after the release date when they obviously had a distribution problem and were already in some measure of action in trying to get all the orders out. Not saying that FV is blameless in the mess--they clearly have problems with per order communication and pre-order processing loop--but to go off in a panic with the game barely out a week is too much.
1. I pre-ordered in July before reviews came out.
2. I canceled days before the game was scheduled to ship.
3. If their was some type of situation with shipment then I should have been notified. Nothing gives them the right to "ninja-ship" the game over a week after I canceled it.
welp...mine finally shipped yesterday :applause:
Same here. Told you guys the Manager sounded legitimate in his explanation!

I just have to join in on the FV bitch fest. I cancelled the order for Heavenly Sword three days in advance of shipping, a week AFTER the ship date and I finally get a notice that the game has shipped. On top of this, I was charged the non coupon price. WTF?

I would mark return to sender, but then I would have no way in knowing that FV had ever received my return. Does anyone have experience in returning orders to Family Video? I just want my money back and then I'm fucking done with this place.

If your order shipped and you didn't want to wait or tried to cancel it, you can just write "return to sender" on the package when you receive it and send it back. You will get a full credit.

I didn't want to wait so I picked my copy up at TRU.

Such an awesome game.

EDIT:
If you're worried about them not getting it back and it gets to be three or four weeks and you still haven't gotten a credit, call them first to see if you have one coming. If not, just dispute the charge on your CC.

WTF? I just got an e-mail that my copy of Halo 3 shipped. Now it's a race to see which gets here first: the game released a week ago or the game not released yet.

I'm done with FV as well.

The case was practically crushed...I mean, the plastic is fine, but the insert is crumpled up at the spine and the back. Could have been easily prevented with popper wrap.

I finally got mine today. They say it shipped on Wednesday and it arrived today (Saturday) via USPS. But it looks like they used UPS Mail Innovations. Perhaps they knew they screwed up so they sent it priority or something. It has a time sensitive material tag on it, so who knows.

I'm glad that I'll be able to play this before I get my hands on Halo 3, which I went thru Lion Games instead of FV. My sister ordered Halo 3 from FV and also got her shipped email today. Let's see when she gets it. She used the 99 cent shipping option and we both live in California. If she gets it in a decent amount of time, I may give FV another chance and scratch this one off to a mixup.

It was a mixup. Somebody got a hold of a manager who said they didn't get the full shipment of copies from their distributor.

Halo 3 shipped for me. So if they shipped it not only on time, but early, that gains some points back from me after initially being disappointed because of this game's mixup. I might order from them again, but only games I can be patient waiting for.

Check your CC, the notice only reflects the current price on the site without discounts or tax, not necessarily your final price.

So far all the orders I've had ship out reflected the correct price on my CC.

Mine showed up too. What a freakin' awesome game! Definitely better than I thought it would be. Reminds me more of Mark of Kri (with a little bit of Prince of Persia sprinkled on top) than God of War.

If they make another Mark of Kri (hopefully a remake of the first one), I hope they use this game's engine. Both the visual engine and fighting engine. They'd just need to switch the right analog roll to MoK's targeting sweeper.

Got mine tody too along with my 5 free blu-rays for buying a PS3. Now if Halo 3 shows up from Best Buy tomorrow or Wednesday it will be a great week.

My receipt is telling me that the game was shipped on 9/07/07. Uh, ok.

I hope I don't run into any problems returning this. Their return policy sounds stupid.

Apparently, you only get the option of a refund if it was damaged in transit. If the product is fine, they only give you store credit, even if the item is still wrapped. Uh, ok.

Just "return to sender" it. You should get a full credit.

This is dumb.
Mine was shipped on the 19th, it's still not here.

Best part? Halo 3 was shipped out 22nd , and it came here the 26th.

What should I do? Give them more time? I mean it just seems weird that both games are traveling the same distance, but the later gets here 1st?!?

BTW, it only took Persona 3 four days to get here last month.

I sent them an email saying I think HS has been lost. They didn't reply, and they never will. They never answered any of my 5 emails in the last 5 months. Time to call customer service and give what I'm sure will be a foreigner a peice of my mind.

15 days later, still not here.
I doubt they really shipped it.
No mail gets lost, and my packages usually arrive in 4 days.

What do I do?
They dont answer emails, so I guess I call them up, then what?
Just explain to them, and they'll send me out another copy?
Or send me out a copy, since I doubt they shipped it in the 1st place.
Business is so shady.
