Help A Brother Out.....

I'm thinking about getting an Xbox for the sole purpose of Halo 2 :D

Well, I was looking at this bundle:

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/245721.asp

It says it comes with two free months of Xbox Live...does this mean it includes the headset or just a gametime card?

I definitely would want XBL to go with Halo 2...I just need to know if I have to somehow come up with 70 bucks for the year subscription and headset...

WTF? What's with the sudden influx of assholes?

Anyways, it's just a gametime card. Halo 2 also comes with two free months (most LIVE games do).

Just a trial card, no headset as far as I know. Halo 2 comes with a 2 month trial card as well, as do many other XBL games.

alright thanks for the info.

hm....so if i get this bundle and halo 2 and buy a cheap xb headset...i would be good to go.

is the headset that comes with the 12month card the best, or are there other "headset only" options?

You can not just buy a headset. You MUST buy the Microsoft headset because it is the only one that comes with the communicator, to my knowledge.

How necessary is the headset, just to try out Live? It would be pretty difficult to coordinate your team in a game like Halo 2, but in games that don't really require much discussion between the players, is it possibly to play without a headset?

yeah you can. The official MS one you can buy seperately without a subscrition card for $29.99. Though you'd be better off buying the 3 month starter kit which comes with a game and headset and 3 months of Live for $39.99. You can also get 3rd party headsets, which are not as good as the official one.
