K, I'm in the process of building a gaming PC, I want it to be able to play the hardest game out there with relative ease, here's the supplies that I have so far:

2 Kingston 512 MB DDR Sticks
1 Western Digital 250 GB HDD
1 Western Digital 200 GB HDD
1 15' Starlogic CRT Moniter
1 Memorix DVD+-R/CD-R Burner
1 Logitech QuickCam Fusion #3(Webcam)
1 Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse
1 Keyboard(Good Gaming Keyboard, I Just Don't Know The Brand)

Anyways, what else do I need to get, and where's the best place to order the parts, I need a case, motherboard, graphics card, and a processor.

I'd say newegg is pretty good. Pricewatch.com is a great website for finding the best price for a PC part. For the graphics card, I recommned going for the PCI-E BFG GeForce 6800 GT OC. I got mine for $420 and I am sure you can find it cheaper now. I have also seen 7800 GT for as little as $420. The BFG card has a life time warrenty too.

as little as $420?! i only paid a little over 100 for a radeon 9600 256

Why cant people ever seem to mention a budget?

Also, if you are using that monitor, no point in buying a supercard. I doubt highly a 15CRT supports the higher res. of todays supercards.

Ya, sorry about the budget, here's my budget:

Graphics Card: $300 or less.
Case: $100 or less.
Processor: $250 or less.
Motherboard: $100 or less.

No disrespect to the OP but I'm still surprised that there's still ppl who use 15 CRT monitors.

I'd suggest getting a processor/mobo combo off of Newegg or TigerDirect. If you want to be high class, get an Athlon/Asus package with PCI Express. You'll probably end up paying less in the long run.. and there are plenty of nice cases on Newegg and Tigerdirect 50 or less.

Also.. if you're looking to save even more money... look into some barebones kits (there's some Asus ones as well).

Maybe a GeForce6800 GT 256MB pci express? They go for around $275 on newegg from PNY. Good yesterday's top of the line.

An athlon 3500 (939) for the processor ($189) and an A8N-SLI Deluxe ($149) and just buy a cheaper case, coz there's nothing like a nice mobo from asus.

Don't forget a cooling solution.

I was trying to say that $420 was a good deal for one of that card.

Should probably go with at least a 17, but when it comes to gaming, CRT's still rock...smoother motion, no ghosting, and better color. IMHO the only reason for going with LCD for a gaming PC is if you don't have the space for a CRT.

Just my 3 cents...

First off, you need at least a 17" monitor.

Graphics card: 6800 Ultra PCI-e
Case: Antec, Lian-Li and Thermaltake are awesome, try to get an aluminum one
Motherboard: An MSI nForce4 PCI-e board should do fine
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ should be in your price range now

Don't forget cooling either. Make sure you have adequate airflow. Try to get a case that has space for a 120mm fan in the front, an 80mm in the side window and at least two 80mm in the rear. That should keep you cool.
