A user I will keep anonymous for now traded with me about a week ago. I gave him my 1 month XBL for his ebay giftcard. He sent first since he had less feedback then me, and he sent me the code and instructions on how to use it. So now I hadn't bought anything on ebay yet, and to my understanding I couldn't use it until I bought something. So today when I did win an auction, I tried to use the code. However it said the code was already linked to someone else's paypal account. So I came here to check with this person to see what's up, as I figured no one in their right mind would scam someone for $5. I sent him a PM, but was sad to see the last time he signed on was 2/4. Should i leave the negative now and just change it if he resolves it? What should I do! please help!


UPDATE:

It is now Friday, and the user has not signed back on. Should I just leave the negative?

Personally, I would wait a couple days. He might be busy with school/work/on vacation, who knows.

But, if he doesnt get back to you by 2/14, then something is up.

Did you send your Live card to him?
 
sounds like a case of someone trading something they had no idea was account-linked? LOL Honest mistake, I guess? If the person's a stand-up peep they'll make things right by paypaling you $5 or something.
 
the code he gave you can only be used by the registered account on paypal. it was made and sent to that user, so paypal will only take it if it's used by the email/user it was made for.

How was all of his previous feedback?

You should probably just wait a few more days, maybe at most until Friday since he may be busy with school and etc. But if no response or resolve be then, there is probably a problem.

Less then 5, but 100%. I can't tell if he traded, bought, or sold based on the feedback. I don't want to taint his name if this is all a mistake, so I don't want to give too much info.

Of course not, I just wanted an idea of if he had any feedback at all really.

Well I say for now just give him the benefit of the doubt, so a few more days, but if he doesn't respond soon, it could be fishy,
