Help Me Out Guys!

Try a 1 day auction listing next time. When you create urgency, people will bid on your item more often. Any more than a 3 day auction is too much.

I would bid, but I don't have an XBOX.

The advice is free though.

So you are asking us, as a group, to break the TOS of Ebay because your short sightedness didn't set the auction up correctly?

I think he is asking people to buy it, not to inflate the bid.

[quote name='beetlegum']I am selling a used copy of ESPN NFL2K for the Xbox on Ebay. I know this game has a low value so I started the auction at 0.01. Much to my dismay, the auction is still at 0.01 with less than 24 hours left! I can't take a loss like this. I will end up paying money instead of making some. Please help me out and throw some bids my way. The auction is at:

I don't understand how you are lsoing money with $5 shipping. FYI, that may be why people aren't bidding on it. Also, the last 24 hours is where you get most of the bids anyway, so don't panic yet.

if a loss of about $.30 is going to put you in the poor house, i'll send you 30 cents via paypal...wait no i won't.

even if it doesn't sell, which it will btw, ebay cuts you a deal on relisting, so put the gun down and sew up your wrists...you still have 9 hours to go.

I did my part. I bid 2 bucks. 7 is an ok price if it shows up in the advertised excellent condition. 5 is a bit steep for shipping though.

Obviously, you guys must not sell much on Ebay if you think i'm not losing money. If the game sold for $0.01, and I paid Ebay listing fees, paypal fees, FVF, that's a heck of a lot more than .30 cents. Also, relisting is not an option. If I had received no more bids, I am legally obligated to send the game to the bidder for one penny.

I sell a lot on ebay. If the final auction value was a penny, you would not be charged a final value fee. The 5.01 total would get you about 50 cents in paypal fees. Total fees (listing and paypal) would be around 80 cents. Shipping by frist class mail with delivery confirmation will be a little under two dollars. Grand total to you is a little under three dollars. Granted, packaging may cost you another 50 cents or so, but you still make $1.50. I really don't see how you can lose money. Even if you use priority mail, you still would have come out a few cents ahead.

Umm... just cuz it's on Ebya doesn't mean someone wants to buy it... if you didn't want to run the risk of losing money to listing fees, you should've just traded it in at an EB or something. Ya live, ya learn, dude.
