Help me remember a light gun game from the 80's

I remember having a toy spaceship that doubled as a light gun that you would use in conjunction with a tape you'd put in your VCR and "shoot" glowing spots in the video and it would "shoot" back at you. I can't remember the name of the game and if anyone could help me out, it would much be appreciated!

I think your memory is a little off.

The game you are wondering about is called
"Duck Hunt". The Glowing Spots were called 'Ducks' and the thing you thought was shooting back at you was a plucky dog laughing at you when you missed.
