Hey guys well I am new in the forum and need your recommendation what should i get the ps3 or the xbox 360. I was going for the 360 with the modern warfare but i am from Venezuela and i am afraid of the red rings.

Thanks!!

Although you can find literally encyclopedias worth of pro's and con's for each system, I can tell you that the 360's that have come out since the Arcade (Jasper chip) version of the machine have done a good job at eliminating (finally) the red ring problem. I have had a RE5 version 360 for eight months and it works flawlessly. And unless you feel you really need the MW2 limited edition, I'd just go with the Pro for $250 or the Arcade for $200. Save your money for games.

I was checking and i could get the pro and another controller for less money that the mw2. Do i need the 250 gb?

You might need that much storage if you will be installing your games to the HD and download a lot of demos/XBLA games/Movies/Music. I have the 120GB drive and I have it nearly filled.

I'd say look at the console exlcusives for both systems, and choose whichever one you would prefer. I prefer the 360 myself.

Here's my honest opinion as an owner of both systems. If you're not attached to any of the exclusive games on either side, I say go with the PS3. You get more bang for your buck nowadays with the free wifi and blu-ray. Plus the PS3 is still much more dependable.

True the newer Jasper chipset 360's are much less likely to red ring, but the console is known to at times have other problems, like disc read errors, for example.

Having said that, I personally prefer my 360 because I like their exclusives, and I have significantly more actual friends on Xbox Live than on PSN.

To answer your other question, no, you don't need 250gb. I have a 120gb hard drive and I always seem to have 30 to 40 gigs of unused space.

I think it depends on how you are going to use the system. Assuming all things are equal (no preferences to 1st party/exclusive games), it depends one what you want. IMO being an owner of both systems, I would take the LIVE service over PSN because it seems to be more integrated than PSN, but it does cost you 60 bucks a year.

Pros for xbox:
-Xbox also has a larger library of games (not neccessarily quality games) that have a tendency to go cheaper.
-System is cheaper.
-Live Arcade has a more extensive library

Pros for PS3:
-More reliable system, I havent heard nearly as many problems with the PS3 as I have the xbox, which seem to be supported from from numerous polls and data from magazines and whatnot.
-Blu ray player, and because of the PS updates, you know its going to have the most up to date firmware of all the blu ray players
-Blu rays hold more info, so if you dont get 5 or 6 disc games.

Now these are just a few that come to mind, and I know this has the makings of a flame war between the two fanboy bases, I really think it matters how its going to be used. If you plan on playing DL arcade games and games online, Id say go with Xbox. If you want a system that seems like its going to last and plays the highest quality movies (DVD and blu ray, the DVD upconverter is better on the PS3) then get the PS3.

Cons:
Avatars and Home sucks monkey nuts.

360 by a longshot. RROD isn't even an issue anymore, especially since Microsoft covers it with warranty for 3 years. I've had my 360 2 years and still have had no issues at all. I've also owned PS3 and next to a 360 it was absolutely worthless other than for blu-rays, which I don't sit and watch enough $30 movies anyway. I know plenty people who feel the same way and most friends who were in favor of PS3, they actually played 360 and became 360 fans. Get the 360 you'll love it. You do not need the 250 gb at all, chances are you'd be fine with a 60gb. I download a lot of TV shows, arcade games, and RB songs and my 60gb isn't even full. I also have 3 games installed. You could even get the 60gb starter kit with an arcade, or whatever, the $250 gb is unnecessary.

Isnt' an issue anymore BS!! I went through 4 XBOX 360's THIS year alone, before I finally got fed up with it, it's online is awesome no doubt but the reliability is total CRAP. The failure rates as of AUGUST of this year are at 54.2% according to gameinformer

Does the latest model of the XB360 still sound like a jet engine or did MS somehow made it quieter? I usually only have free time to game at night, and I can't really drown out the fan or drive noise by pumping up the volume...plus, I prefer not to disturb my housemates. On that note, my PS3 has started to produce more noise on occasion nowadays (which I didn't notice before during the early months). I might just be hearing things...

I think i'm going for the 360!!! so what accessories are the most buy and which ones i don't need.

Thanks for everything!!!

Must buy accessories... most likely a 1 year membership to XBL is a must buy. I would also buy a quick charge kit, with an extra replacement rechargeable battery so you always have batteries charged to play, you'll need that.

A headset is good to have, which comes with a Pro or Elite. Hard Drive is almost a must. Microsoft points are good to have and use. If you want to connect the 360 and a PC at the same time you'll need a router, I would recommend just using a wire instead of the wireless adapter, since it's cheaper and you're guaranteed to be getting the best connection.

That's really it, maybe you'll want to get an extra controller. Everything else is just games and maybe you'll want to get an HDMI cable to use.

I am not going to sit here and just yell out my thoughts. I will not list millions of pros and cons however either.

I own both a PS3 and a 360. I personally enjoy my 360 50x better. There are so many more exclusives for the 360 than there are the PS3. I will say that the PS3 games that I own are amazing in their own right, such as Killzone 2, inFamous, LittleBigPlanet, Motorstorm, Metal Gear, etc.

BUT if I were to count all of the PS3 exclusives that were actually really good, I would only need my two hands to keep track of them all. However were I to do the same for the 360 I would have to be using not only my hands and feet, but random objects as well. There are just so many more games to choose from for the 360.

I will admit that it is more expensive to buy the accessories for the 360 like mentioned above with Live, battery packs and what not, but it is well worth it in my opinion. I find the controllers better, the online service blows the PSN out of the water in my opinion and just the general feel of the 360 is much more like a video game console whereas the PS3 feels too busy trying to be a multimedia center. Though for what it is worth, if you are looking for a Blu Ray player, it is very nice.

If you do pick up a 360 however I would suggest getting an Elite, if not the MW2 bundle, but I think that the Elite will suit you just fine. I had the 20GB and it was filled in no time, my 120GB only has like 12 GB left now, but I can make it work, not to mention I have had far too many games.

But yes, I have ranted I am sorry, but in my opinion, someone who faithfully owns and supports both consoles I must say the 360 wins.
