Help pick my next RPG

I'm currently finishing up the first Shadow Hearts game and am thinking about what RPG to play next. I only play one RPG at a time and normally only have one or two RPG's to choose from. However this time around, I have way too many to pick from thanks to all of the great deals from CAG. So I'd like your help choosing my next RPG.

My general preference is to play fantasy style RPG's with a good storyline. I've been playing RPG's since the original Final Fantasy on the NES and have really enjoyed that series in general. Since some of these games also include a co-op mode I should mention I'll be playing all by my lonesome regardless of the game. And yes, I realize not everyone will consider all of these games to be true RPG's, so if you want to argue that point feel free to start your own thread. :)

I'd avoid Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles and Xenosaga if I were you, and for completely different reasons. There is no story in FF at all, it's meant to be a multiplayer action/RPG experience. And Xenosaga, well you don't really play it, you watch it. The cutscenes are numerous and loooong. I found the story and characters interesting, but the execution in that game was just off.

I'd go with Lunar if I were you. I had the original on Sega CD and thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. I loved Paper Mario: TTYD as well, but since you stated a preference for fantasy RPG, it sounds as though you'd like Lunar more.
 
Since you're finishing SH1, you should play SH:C next. It's a great game, I'd rate it a 4.5/5. Really reminded me of a Final Fantasy game. Not sure if that's your preference, but it's a good game. Only downside to me was the difficulty.. too easy.

Out of the rest, I'd only recommend Xenogears if you're looking for story. I'm still waiting to buy Vagrant Story, so I can't recommend that one yet. And Xenosaga just wasn't for me.. I played maybe 10 hours in.
 
Voted Lunar SSS. I just got mine in the mail today from ebay - I've never played it, but I loved Lunar 2. I've played only a bit of Xenogears.

I'm currently playing through Star Ocean 'Til the End of time - technically my first PS2 RPG, the only other I've played was FFX (always a PS1 backlog). Star Ocean is fun and all, but I've always a preference for a good turn-based strategic battle system - Star Ocean has a real RPG story, random battles that are action/RPG beat 'em ups. Give me turn based any day. :D
