Help with the Official PS3 BT headset

I just bought the v2 official BT headset for PS3. I've paired it but my buddies say I am coming across all scratch and hard to hear.

Can anyone point me to some resources to try to troubleshoot this? I've got a great internet connection, it is hardwired, and I believe plenty of upload bandwidth.

I'm not sure what else to do.

Internet connection is probably not the problem and the bluetooth v2 has worked perfectly for me since april. Check sony's website and such. Sorry if I am not a big help!
 
Thanks guys. I found a thread where around the 3.70 release, having DTS 5.1 selected in audio set up messed with your headset performance. Not fix in sight other than turning off DTS which did the trick for me. Works great now. Would love to see Sony fix this though.
