Help with this - disc unreadable?

I don't know if anyone has any insight into this, but I picked up Halo Reach on release day and wasn't able to play a few levels of campaign/firefight. I get the error disc unreadable, so I bring the disc back to the store get a new one and guess what, it's still disc unreadable.

So does anyone have any idea what I need to do to fix this? I've reformated my entire hard drive, nothing seems to work I can think of.
 
I read about this elsewhere and they stated to contact MS customer service support. I don't see why they just don't post an official q & a on how to fix this instead and save them time, hassle and such. I'd return the game to the store you bought it at and have them return or exchange it maybe that'll help. That would be fastest and easiest method for a quick fix.

See it's not the game, I've already had it exchanged when I thought it was the game. Same error, at the same levels.

That makes it sound even more like it's the game. an initial batch or two could have some sort of burning or coding error that makes it glitch at that same spot. Maybe try returning it at a different location of the store you bought it from?
