Here we go again, Wal Mart holding Wii's for December 6th

CAGiversary!
My local Wal Mart in BFE West Virginia has confirmed they have 30 Wii's in stock for their Dec 6th ad. I would assume if you live in a more populated area they may have more.

They have already put most of the accessories out.

I was lucky enough to score one last week but I am putting this up for people to try their luck.

Yeah, I just got back from my local Wal-Mart and they have a sign on the glass of the Wii section that says, "New Wii Systems will be available for sale at 8:00 AM on Dec. 6th."

This is a 24 hour Wal-Mart, but I guess they are deciding to hold them until 8:00 AM....

yep I should've made this thread because I knew about this yesterday , I posted about this on another thread though , it's also going down on the 6th in Killeen, Tx. So I would imagine pretty much every walmart should have some.

we checked with my local walmart in selinsgrove, pa and they claimed that they are only going to have 3. i'm hoping that was just an uninformed employee who missed a zero, because this area has already been greatly undersupplied. i know most places are out of stock around the country, but our county got less than 50 (all stores combined) for launch day and we haven't gotten many since.

so far, i got:
zelda
monkey ball
trauma center
wiimote
nunchuck
wii points card
official component cables
battery charger with batteries
wireless router
2 gig sd card

...but no system!

See, people bitch about retailers holding them, but what would you rather have during this time of year, the totally random distribution of limited Wii supplies anywhere, anytime, without any fanfare, or a date and time when you can adequately prepare (even if that means others will and you might have to linesit for--at this point--a couple hours)?

Trust me, unless you legitimately have no life and/or job and can spend each and every day scouting for Wii, constantly missing a given store's shipment by thismuch would eventually make your hair grey, that is, if you still had any left by then.

I was at Wally World purchasing my Zelda Wii on Friday. I was about 3rd in line at the electronics counter, and the guy kept getting calls and his response every single time was that they will have them 8AM on the 6th. The second he put down the phone, he got another call and had to pick it up while checking people out.

all stores should just start accepting preorders. at the time of a preorder, they should clearly explain to the customer that they can't guarantee them a system before christmas. also, if i was a store manager, i'd probably require all preorders to be paid in full.

Indefinite preorders are a nice idea, of course, but more than a little 'pie in the sky' at this point. I think we all saw how that went with EBGamestop stores and the 360 last year. I guarantee you that many customers have 'selective hearing and comprehension' when it comes to the 'fine print' disclaimers. Preorders have been minimized for consoles for a reason, and I don't see them overextending themselves in retail ever again.

also, if i was a store manager, i'd probably require all preorders to be paid in full.

That would weed out a lot of the bullshit preorders, but the supply would still be far outstripped by demand (through the holidays and shortly thereafter).

As it stands right now, the best 'real world' option for gamers that missed out on the very limited preorder opportunities is to know the where and the when and adjust their sleep schedule accordingly. Thank God this is it for the next three or four years (?).
