See, people bitch about retailers holding them, but what would you rather have during this time of year, the totally random distribution of limited Wii supplies anywhere, anytime, without any fanfare, or a date and time when you can adequately prepare (even if that means others will and you might have to linesit for--at this point--a couple hours)?
Trust me, unless you legitimately have no life and/or job and can spend each and every day scouting for Wii, constantly missing a given store's shipment by thismuch would eventually make your hair grey, that is, if you still had any left by then.
well, first, if it's only 3 at certain stores, it isn't worth holding them. and second, what i would prefer to do is to be able to go into any store that sells games and reserve a wii and whenever they get it in, they call me and i pick it up. unannounced shipments that reward random lucky walk in customers = stupid. people needing to wait in lines for hours = stupid. having a sale that starts at 8 am in the middle of a school/work week = stupid. taking preorders = the right thing to do, obviously.
all stores should just start accepting preorders. at the time of a preorder, they should clearly explain to the customer that they can't guarantee them a system before christmas. also, if i was a store manager, i'd probably require all preorders to be paid in full.
