Here's a Brillant Idea... !

"Everybody panicked," Daisy Cooper, a Merrill Lynch worker in Jersey City, told the local NBC News channel. "Everybody was screaming and we all ran downstairs. I'm devastated ... Everybody was running, we didn't know why we were running. We just knew it was a plane, there we go, 9/11 again."
Eight years later and they still shit their pants like that?

Prolly should have notified Bloomberg bout this. That was dumb.

Apparently the Pentagon notified the NYPD, and authorities in Jersey. There just wasn't any communication on their side.

I heard the panic was caused by news of Chuck being renewed for another season.

EDIT: How good are the pictures? We need to focus on what is important.

I wonder if they can really be this stupid.

I wonder if this was really some kind of drill masked up as a bungled photo opp in part to guage public reaction.

If Bush were still the president when this bonehead maneuver occurred we'd get non-stop headlines of how idiotic the president was. Huffingtonpost shills would actually have something to report instead of jerking themselves off every day.

It's the top story on CNN right now, Drudge has seven links, it's covered on MSNBC and Fox's front pages, along with information about "disciplining those responsible".

It's beat by Swine Flu (over 100 dead and counting) and GM (21,000 lost jobs) news stories on most sites, but it's there. Those seem to be more important stories. I'm sorry if the media isn't treating it wildly enough to assuage your sense of indignation.

EDIT: Just wanted to point out that the President doesn't seem to have had anything to do with the decision, and all the proper steps were taken by his Administration.

"hundreds of people rushed out of their offices"...

hundreds out of how many in manhattan?

It's like being upset that 100+ people have died to swine flu out of 7 billion humans on earth.
