Here's an example of a stupid ass eBayer.
I Know im going to get flame for this but i can see her point. YOu didnt say you needed a e reader to play these games and you didnt say they were cards..

overall i put the blame 1% you 99% them.. They should of asked but you should of put MOre info. She can have a case agasint you though .. you just showed the wrapers you didnt show the cards...
Yes he did it says e-reader games in the auction. If you don't know what e-reader games are then don't bid!

I thought her responses were very funny. She is such a dumbass! You did nothing wrong OP, and it was clearly her ignorance that led to this situation. I love that she thought these were cartridges, when your picture clearly shows they are packs of cards!

I got ripped by an ebayer who purchased a 4gb compact flash card from me for $225... After recieving the item he says this is not what I thought it was. He didn't bother asking for his money back, he called his credit card company. Next thing I know PayPal takes the $225 back.
now here I am without a 4gb compact flash card and without the $225. That was fucked up.

yea but NOWHERE did it say that you needed another part to play the games. They should of put YOU WILL NEED AN E READER to play these.. i might just dealt with too many fools on ebay that is why im thinking this way ....

ROFL they look like cards. Any dumb ass buying games knows what e-reader is. Just cause some soccer mom is ignorant, it doesn't really make it a case.

It's like me buying sega cd games and assuming I can play it on my genesis.

Yes there are many people out there who think they can play Sega cd games on a genesis. That is why I put THese will only play in the Sega cd on my auctions when i sell those types of games. I had at least 3 people ask me how does a CD fit into a cartage based system in the last 5 years

damn that sux
I'm so glad I don't sell on ebay. I'm sure 99% of the bidders are OK, but this is just the type of thing that puts me off.
I've been selling on eBay for the last 5 years and ran into complete morons like these every once in a while. I sold a Frito Lay's Spirit of Obiwan mailaway figure and the buyer whined it wasn't made of crystal... doesn't she know something like that would never be made with the kind of toy safety law we have?!

eBay is now a cesspool, I am so glad I quit doing it. Life is much better without eBay.

That's strange, PayPal should have asked you to tell your side of the story before going ahead and taking your money away.

HELLO,

HE IS A HEARTLESS BASTARD AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW HE CAN SELL THESE GAMES..EERR CARDS ON THIS SITE.

HE MUST PAY IN 48 HOURS OR I WILL FILE CHARGES AGAINST EBAY FOR BEING ACCOMPLICES FOR THEFT AND DEFRAUDING THE ASNEWMOM1 REPUBLIC...

That's the problem, Paypal doesn't care. When they get a credit card chargeback notice, they don't stand up for the seller and rather than fight the charge, they decide it's easier for them to just take the money from the seller's account

Well they are "suppose" to arbitrate the case but for the $225 item you probably should have threatened to take the guy to small claims court or something, this is why I don't sell anything expensive over ebay, there are so many ways to get screwed.

laja231.5's (formerly "asnewmommy1") profile says she's in Springville, UT. That's 15 mins. south of me.

If I had an address, I could pull a little recon job...

While you could have said that these were cards, your description clearly states that these are e-reader games. Certainly, there is absolutely no justification for her tone, demands, and threats.

Yet another shinning success of the American public school system.

No child left behind... hooo raaah!

I'm 99% sure the guy has to mail your item back to you if he does a charge back. How long ago was this? Have you asked him to mail your item back? If he doesn't do it talk to a postal inspector about filing a mail fraud charge, I'm not sure you can, but I'd definitely look into it if I were you.

Crap like this makes me want to start accepting money orders only...

I wouldn't mind switching over to money orders only as well but it really hurts your sales. It seems that money order only auctions typicall go for 66% - 75% of the amount that Paypal auctions go to (from what I have seen when comparing certain items like DDR games or Beatmania controllers)

With your e-reader cards you swipe them through a
e-reader(it goes into the cartridge slot on a game
boy):

http://www.toysnjoys.com/gba/e-reader.jpg

Then you are able to play the games on that card. The
card has programming code that the e-reader
understands. I hope you enjoy your games.

To claim your prize and get more information about the
e-reader go to:

Thanks

I'd say you could have been clearer in your auction, but I certainly don't think you did anything wrong. I may not have considered people wouldn't realize an e-reader game isn't a normal cartrige myself. (Seems like common knowledge to me, but I guess there are always clueless buyers.)

I mean you have the picture right there. What did she think she was looking at? Shiny foil packs with super flat cartridges inside?

Took a look at the feedbacks and looks like you left positive after she paid? That sucks. I always wait to leave feedback (as a seller) until the buyer leaves feedback for me. Some don't agree with that, but it's the only way to semi-protect yourself from unreasonable buyers.
Your auction is perfectly clear, and your shipping charge was only a dollar, to boot. I'd send her another email explaining that these are games, encoded on cards, that can only be read by the e-reader, as mentioned clearly in the auction text.

You have to admit, if you had never heard of an ereader, you would be pretty confused by these cards, not expecting them to actually have playable games. I am not forgiving the bidder for being rude, obnoxious, and ignorant, but just trying to see it from their perspective.
I agree with exactly what you said guessed. He made it perfectly clear, there is a picture with what she was getting and if she was ignorant on what she was bidding on, well there's the internet for starters to do some research or to go to a B&M store and check it out, or then again she seems capable of e-mailing him so you'd think that if she wasn't sure on what she was bidding on she could have at least e-mailed him and asked him. Also in her e-mails, she constantly keeps saying that they are GAME BOY GAMES, which technically they are but in the auction they are clearly stated as E-reader games.

It sucks that there is no way to fight a bad rating on ebay. They should have "The Peoples' Ebay Court" or something...

Who was that foxy daytime judge.. oh yeah

Judge Marilyn Milian

Meow!

Sometimes I wonder if ebaying is even worth it. You get smacked with listing fees, final value fees, and paypal fees. And for every good buyer you get, you get some moron like this woman.

I think you're in the right, the games are clearly e-reader cards. I don't think ebay will find any merit with her complaints.

The funniest question I've got from a bidder: "Please end your auction now, and sell me the item for $5, because I can't afford what you're asking." Um...dude? Do you even know what the point of an auction is? I told them no, of course, and good thing because I ended up getting over $200 for the item.

These kinds of Uber-Idiots are actually pretty rare, of the few hundred transactions I have made on Ebay I have only encountered one of them. Some peoples brains are just past the expiration date, and it is funny how they get angry and feel ripped off when they are being the idiot.

That's just dumb, if you punished for this (which you shouldn't) I say we form a lynch mob and go to Ebay.

And to the guy who got ripped on on the $225, if it wasn't that long ago you could file a claim of mail fraud against em and also email Paypal about what happened.

A while back I won an auction for Windows XP for 100 bucks, never got the disc, and Paypal ended up getting our money back. Although they did take it away again but that's because our bank got the money back too.

It is apparent this person did not know what he was bidding on. He was also rude. Howevere as a seller on ebay you will run into people like this every now and then. If your plan on selling on ebay for any length of time you may adapt new ways of dealing with people like this.IS the negative feedback he left you worth it?Sometimes it's easyier to give them a refund and avoid all the aggravation. Nobody likes to threatened with negative feedback.
It's simply a matter of customer service . Being right which you are = negative feedbacks.Remember when you sell on ebay you are the CEO.At any rate don't lose and sleep over this.

I didn't lose any sleep over this. WHat's funny is that she demended a refund but didn't offer to send back the items. Stupid ass.

I hate when people ask to end auctions. Even worse is then you have an auctions with no bids and a buy it now and someone asks if they will bid, you will end the auction early for them. I once had a game up for sale, starting bid $12.99, buy it now $14.99. They asked if they could bid $12.99 if I would end the auction early because they needed the item for a gift. I told them I would not end it early (especially because if someone else bid, maybe it would even go above $14.99). If they really wanted it that badly, they could have paid the $2 more and used buy it now.

I only read the first post, and it's just jaw-dropping. And she continues to say "stupid cards" as if they weren't games. It's like, hello! Research before you bid. I'm sure you won't get in trouble with ebay and definitely don't refund her. She got exactly what she bid for. Amazing, the stupid people in the world...

I read the first post and I don't know what you people are talking about. The buyer seemed perfectly intelligent and was appropriately angry for misinformation........

Stuff like this is why I will only deal with CAGs for eBay auctions.

And in any case, the CAGs tend to have stuff cheaper and are much easier to deal with.

emcee I feel your pain for people being too stupid to be using computers. If she didn't think that she knew what they might be, why not go hit Google and see what you can find out about it? WTF?

Shall we start taking before before she gets special things in her email?

Well I've decided that your one mistake was putting Gameboy and Games in the same title and expecting people to read all the rest of the words. Hopefully that B**** gets what's comming to her.

Ha, I had a similar question in the past as well. Just ignored it. People are dumb.

One time I sold a game and stated it was new in the add. The game had been just opened and my wife hated it (harvest moon) so i listed it on ebay and the pictures all showed the actual game case opened with all contents exposed.

When the lady got her game she demanded a refund due to it being used. I explained that it was opena dn I stated it was opened along with pictures of it being opened.

She refused to accept that and fought and fought with me. I explained that when someone goes and buys a "new" car the moment they get home with it first they still refer to it as new because it is new still. And therefore the game I sold had literally been used once and the instructions had no marks . This was as mint as you could get without the wrap.

I ended up having to give her a refund or be exposed to negative feedback... what a joke sometimes.

Well, a game and a car are different. If it's NEW, I expect it to be unopened. Don't say NEW if it's not sealed. Yes, you had pictures...so it was her part that is dumb, but I think NEW and openedare two different things

yeah .. i agree ... when selling "new" means sealed.. and once its opened it becomes used.

Yea, you were definitely in the wrong. Its been played, its no longer new. You can say nearly-new, mint condition, played once... but not new. I'd even recommend not selling a game as new even if its never been out of its holder but had the shrink wrap removed.. all its going to cause is complaints and neg. feedback.
