I'm not denying the stuff isn't cool... the 200+ page hardcover artbook would definitely be nice but the PVC statue is questionable (since I've seen similar sized dragon statues for $20-30). I'm just qeustion whether people will see the value in a dvd, a artbook and a statue and think it's worth $90 more.

Plus, they know the game will sell boatloads and likely overproduce it.

    Everything in this edition was very high-class:     A real artbook, and not the tiny things usually included in other CEs; A real statue with lighting effects, and not the flimsy-ass busts found in other CEs; Pattern-debossed steelbook. Even the backpack is hardy, although I wouldn't exactly wear it outside.
  • Any guide by Future Press or Piggyback
    Always awesome in both content, physical composition, and visual design.

Least Favorite:
:ps3: God of War III Ultimate Edition
- Even at about $66, it was a terrible deal. For all the hype surrounding it, the Pandora's box is incredibly cheap and flimsy.

Best deals:
:360: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition $50
- During Amazon's Trade-in $50 for a 50% off credit about 2 years ago, I took advantage of Gamestop's B2G1 in 4 different stores to get 50% of the $120 of the prestige edition on Amazon with a slight profit. They also gave $10 promotional credit.

Worst deals:
:360: Alien vs. Predator Hunter Edition $79
- I got burned on another LE run, so I thought I'd better get on this one quick. That was a stupid mistake.
:ps3: LittleBigPlanet CE $79
- Bookends look terribly cheap. From the pictures I was expecting the dolls to be fully 3D.

Don't have an exact number, but perhaps I'll post my LEs sometime in the future. As for favorite, least favorite, etc, here they are, excluding CEs that are the only version of the game(Zelda CE, Metroid Prime Trilogy CE, etc).

Favorites:

-Bioshock LE(sealed): Hands down, the best value for any CE to date. A resin, Big Daddy statue, soundtrack and bonus DVD for a mere $10. Not like all the LEs today that cost and extra $20-90 and come with this DLC bullshit.

-Uncharted Fortune Hunter Edition(sealed): Only 200 in the world and not sold in stores. Nuff said.

-MGS Subsistence: A free upgrade if you pre-ordered, which I sadly didn't. Includes one of the best bonus DVDs in any game with all the cut scenes edited into a movie.

-Tales of Vesperia LE: Nothing too special about this one besides its value. Just really love the look of the steelbook case.

-Robotech Battlecry CE XBOX sealed: A lot of collectible goodies.


Least Favorites:

-GoW III CE: A waste of over $100. The best thing in the CE is an unlockable costume that makes you twice as strong but locks all the trophies. What the hell is the point?

-Batman Arkham Asylum CE: Another waste of over $100. The main draw was the batarang which, disappointingly, was made of really cheap plastic and permanently attached to a stand. The artbook was the best part, and it's really small.


Great LE finds:

-MGS Subsistence LE: Back in 2008, 2 years after the game's release, I walked into a Blockbuster. Looking through the used games I saw an unusually large case that was completely red. Low and behold, it was a used and complete copy of MGSS LE for only $15! Unable to focus on anything else, I bought it immediately. :D

-Tales of Vesperia LE: Just a few months ago, I got a call from a GS employee I know telling me someone just traded a copy of the game in. Went in after school and bought it for $18! XD

-Robotech Battlecry: During my trip to New York a couple of years ago, I was looking in a CD store that happened to sell games. Found the game on the floor, long forgotten, for only $5 brand new.


Game that continues to elude me: Dead Space Limited Edition!!!!!!!

360 alone I should be somewhere around 100ish (I normally don't count stuff like Bulletstorm Epic, MoH LE, etc... the stuff with DLC/passes). If I count those, I am easily over 100.

Counting other systems, I should be around the 150 mark or so though :D

I have a bunch of CE's (I'll post pics a bit later in the day), but the one that is grinding me that I won't be able to get for cheap is the Sonic Generations CE, since Sega decided to be oh so nice and not release it in the U.S. :bs:

Reviving this! This thread is great! Im trying to get all the US release CEs for ps3 first and work my way from there lol
I wonder how much everyone has spent on their collection, probably more than we'd like to admit..

I probably have around 50 or so just ps3 a few others too

my most exclusive is probably Killzone 3 Limited Helghast Edition with the glowing eyes and only ~1000 made

favorite would beee Assassin's Creed 2 Master Assassin Edition that ezio statue is pretty damn awesome

most disappointing is easy - Duke Nukem Forever Balls of Steel Edition.. paid full price.. buut bright side - returned the game itself and got a gift card for $64 lol
 
My most prized one: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots (Limited Edition) signed by Kojima and the VA for one of the BB's.

My favorite one: Bayonetta Scarborough Fair Edition (imported from Australia or NZ, can't remember which). Came with the art book, soundtrack, and replica gun with stand.

Runner-ups: Vanquish imported from the UK which came with a statue/figure.

Dead Space 2: Replica Plasma Cutter and DS: Extraction, 'nuff said. (^.^)b

GeoW2 CE since I got the Lancer with it on Amazon.
