Hillary's Bosnia Story Shot Down in Flames
Moreover there are hundreds of dictators all over the world as bad as or worse than Saddam was, do you suggest we "police" the rest of the world as well? Why don't we (maybe because they're black, don't have oil?)
There are not "hundreds" of dictators throughout the world. And there are few if any who could be compared to Saddam Hussein in terms of carnage. That said, it is a fair point about policing the world. Of course, the reason we went into Iraq was to strike at potential state-sponsored terrorism with chemical/biological/nuclear weapons, and obviously Zimbabwe or Equatorial Guinea aren't going to pose a similar [percieved] threat.
Oh and by the way, the kurds still live in fear, now it's just from a different dictator, a different uniform, and better weapons.
Baloney. What dictator? Better weapons than nerve gas and a large army with modern weapons? Pray tell.

Oh and as far as numbers go, I was only counting American lives which are IMO the most important, every life is precious but I'm American, what do you expect. I wouldn't expect any other nation to value the lives of others more than its own citizens in any foreign policy analysis.
An interesting quote on the value of human life in Rwanda, from a US officer as they planned a relief effort involving US troops securing Kigali airport: "We are doing our calculations backs here, and one American casualty is worth about 85,000 Rwandan dead."
It's always fascinating/depressing to see what value is attributed to human life when it comes down to it.

At least you admitted that there was never a legit threat from WMDs from Iraq to begin with, so yeah, it is just as ridiculous as attacking Zimbabwe or Equatorial Guinae.

The dictator is US (both meanings)!!! I can't beleive you didn't see I was implying that. You think they're happier now!???? Are you serious? Did you hear about the shit that went on over there today?

Although I wouldn't call them a dictatorship, Turkey would love to stomp the Kurds out of existence...and they've got all of that in spades.

I will always admit to facts, such as there have been no WMD to speak of discovered in Iraq. We know from previous experience that he had at least some, so as to the location of these, or if they have been destroyed, that is a matter of some debate. But clearly the reason for the war as put forward by the administration was misguided based on hindsight. I'm not yet ready to say "Bush lied people died" as many people will jump to so easily with 20/20 hindsight and a clear lack of understanding about the prevalent intelligence reports in the runup to the war.

If you think the US has dictatorial control in Iraq, what can I tell you, what are you smoking?

They are definitely not a dictatorship, don't have nerve gas, and don't control the land on which most Kurds live (although a significant number live in Turkey). And they want less to "stomp them out of existence" than to eliminate the terrorist group PKK.

You're right elprincipe, NOBODY has control in Iraq.

And Bush did lie and people did die, open your eyes. Aren't you the conspiracy theoriest, or maybe I'm confusing you with level1. Are you still holding out hope that the WMD's will still show up?

Yep...And it even has flashbacks of Charlie in the trees as an easter egg.

I don't know about nobody; different factions have control in different parts of the country. But if you think the U.S. is calling the shots with the Iraqi government and Shi'a/Kurd factions you're nuts.

Whether Bush lied in the runup to the war is debatable. It's been argued a million times on this forum and I'd rather not rehash it. Suffice to say I'm not as quick to jump to conclusions based on little to no evidence as some, and I'll leave it at that.

I would like to find out what happened to the WMDs, of course; it's much more dangerous for everyone not knowing what happened to them. We know some existed at some point (Halabja says hi). Were they destroyed? Move to Syria? Hidden? It sure would be nice to find out. I don't have a vested interest other than that, if that's what you were implying.

And yes, you are confusing me with level1, which is far more insulting than anything else you've posted on this forum. :D

My bad...I'll try to ramp up the insults in other posts, lol! ;)
