Hollywood Video Closure: Late Fee Q's

Does anyone know what Hollywood video stated regarding late fees that aren't paid prior to the official closure?

I hate for them to send me to collections over $15-$20 bucks. Ive been holding it off and then recently remembered. Ever since Redbox came out I never ever ventured into a HWV.

TIA.

From what employees told me as we laughed over people not returning stuff...

People with late fees or items they did not return were called. Their options were to either pay up or they would charge the credit card on file on their account or send them to collections.

I can only speak from my experience-I was holding on to Uncharted 2 because my local one was closing, didn't return it till they threatened to send to collections. When I did return it the guy said since the store was closing he wasn't going to waive the fee. Might depend on whether the guy at the store feels like being an ass or not.

Wow. I hope they send you to collections and ruin your credit. Holding onto a stores game hoping they close and you can keep it is theft.

To be honest, it sounds more like you're the ass rather than trying to make out the employees as one. Do you not understand they still have to dump off all the merchandise they do get back to try and salvage back some of their losses? It's not like they take all of the stuff back and then burn it in a furnace to ashes. You sir, are an ass.

I'm sure if Scorch was in this thread, you'd get a brick to the face.

They still have an email for customer service on their site, will probably contact them next payday.

I picked up a copy of Uncharted 2 from the store closing by me without having to resort to being a thief. It cost me $25 for what is still a $50 used title. It came mint/complete.

You sir were the ass for depriving someone else of possibly buying that game during the closing sale. Hope you like having ruined credit, since they will probably send you to collections for it.:D

Oops, that was a typo(and I haven't checked the thread since I last posted). Not the me not returning til I got a notice about collections. I totally meant to say he did waive the fee. They were totally nice about it. I even asked what the used price would be at the time, but he told me I'd only be saving about $10 of the new price, so I didn't bother to buy it.

Whatever dude, I made a mistake in what I originally said, I corrected it as soon as I noticed, as far as I'm concerned, that's the end of it. I couldn't give a rat's ass whether you believe I'm being truthful or not.

That's one major typo.

lol @ erad getting flamed

but he's probably not the only one did something low like this. I'm sure there are other CAGs (including myself) done something low like this.

Seriously anyone who has ever downloaded something off a torrent would be living in a glass house.

So he waived the fee but you still tried to steal the game hoping they wouldnt notice since they were going out of business. Somehow my symphathy for you isnt rising.
