does the 25% off code still work? i still can't even get the page to load.
It's on SD's front page. That's why no one can get the site to load anymore. Bastards.

It should still work fine, once the site stops getting hammered.
Do these come in the original cases or in one of those generic ones?
Some ppl got either one of them. But luckily, most of them were original cases.

Damn. HWV site is getting hammered. I can't even get in to look at anything in the Used section.

EDIT: That was strange. I waited about five minutes and then there was no lag at all on the site. I guess the "rush" died down.

It's pretty smooth for me now, much better than it was earlier.

Prior to this week, 99% of the orders came in Bluray cases. Since then, a lot more seem to be coming in generic DVD cases.

i finally got my Let the Right One In blu and unfortunately it is the crappy subtitle version as i feared. :whistle2:/ but i can't be too upset, i knew i was taking a gamble. i'll just sell it somewhere and see if i can get roughly what i paid for it.

After doing some research, it looks like the properly subbed bluray didn't even make it to shelves until the Dec-Feb time frame; months after the DVD version was corrected.

Of course, I completely forgot about the subtitle ordeal until after I ordered it, so it didn't matter.

Got in my latest and last order from HWV online.

I ordered 'Let the Right One' In and 'The Bank Job' from the $4.99 used bluray link those had up for a while.

What I received was LtROI :br: in a crappy rental case, and Bank Job on DVD in a rental case.

:bomb:

on the bright side, I no longer have to worry about trying to navigate that shitty site ever again.

I got Hulk, Transporter 3, and Hellboy II in the mail today. They are in black DVD cases, with a "sleeve" over them with the movie's logo. Discs are in good condition, but Transporter 3 says "2-disc edition", yet only comes with 1 disc. Hellboy II came with both, surprisingly.

They also re-stocked again, added quite a few more movies.

Zombieland, Ponyo, 2012, Armored, Princess and the frog and a few new movies are up for 8.99! Site is being hammered to hell though so not expecting these to last long.

was able to get 9, zombieland, 2012, gamer, the proposal, surrogates, ponyo and up. Noticed after I checkout out that a ton of the ones i ordered are now gone...either the site got hit pretty fast or they only had like less than 5 copies of some of the newer ones haha

Ah, so you're the bastard who took all the new titles.

;)

i guess so, but i did only take one of each...i had just ordered a few like 20 minutes before and figured i've just hit F5 and bam...all the new ones were up, guess i just got lucky

I don't mind much because I was looking for The Hurt Locker, which didn't show up this time. Although I'm currently kicking myself for not adding The Lives of Others and Up when I had the chance.

I got Coraline, Wall-E, Gamer, and 3:10 to Yuma.

Simpsons movie was jsut added as well, if I can get to the checkout with it. Can't believe I missed District 9... didn't even see it, and I was looking non-stop during those few minutes they were restocking.

Wow, they've got movies now I've never seen them carry, and not just the newest releases. Black Snake Moan, Disturbia, The Lookout, Stomp the Yard, Catch and Release .... Interesting.

I hate this. Everytime I try to order something, they restock with even more movies that I want, haha. I can't go away from this website, and it's loading so slow that it's just grating on my nerves, haha.

World Trade Center, Talladega Nights, Fifth Element, Dreamgirls, Rocky Balboa, Babel, Aeon Flux, Devil's Rejects, Four Brothers, Sky Captain, Italian Job, The Patriot -- I'm pretty sure 80% of those are new to the site. I just wish I wanted any of them.
too bad they come with generic dvd cases. is there a place to buy bluray cases?
sleevetown.com

You're lucky on Hellboy coming with both discs. Mine didn't. :(

My copy of Mamma Mia! arrived today....in standard DVD case. But it included the Bluray paper insert and the disc was in fine shape, so no real complaints!

And once again I miss Coraline! I've tried 3 times to snag a copy on there....it always seems to slip thru my fingers....

I didn't see a thread posted for this, but they also have a bunch of normal DVD's up on the site for $3.99 each. Use the code 25PV to take 25% off the used price of $3.99 each for those.

Add eight of them to your cart and it gives you a package discount of 8/$20, used the code and it drops the price to $15 for those eight movies AND it ships for free.

Here's a link to the pages for them(set to 100 per page): http://www.hollywoodvideo.com/products.aspx?c=25
i'm not ordering any more until they ship the fucking 9 that i ordered on the 26th that just sit at processing.
I feel like if you order them in a big batch it will delay the shipping. They are shipping them for free so the want to put them all together instead of where gohastings charges you shipping individually and ships them as soon as they are available from different places. In my case I ordered 28 Weeks Later about a week ago when it was in stock and right after I did it went out of stock, now with this recent update when it came back into stock I got an email saying it shipped. So maybe they are waiting on a video or two.

Congrats. Those were some of the movies I would have loved to get, especially Up and D9. Too bad I wasnt home all day Saturday. Oh well :)

Not a whole lot of good stuff left. I was able to pick up Tyson for $7.19 with "25PV" coupon after tax. Free shipping on a single Blu Ray. Nothing wrong with that.

so I received my copies (one for me and one for my friend) of bank job and surprise... I got a standard dvd instead of blu ray... I emailed the place but no response... what would be the best method to handle this?

It took over a week before I got a response. They will offer 30% off to keep or mail you back a return envelope.

Good luck, I'm dealing with some customer service rep named "Jordan" who doesn't seem to be able to read and respond to an email at the same time. I simply told him that I received a DVD instead of the Blu-Ray that I ordered. He keeps telling me that they don't have a replacement (even though it's available online) and says that he can offer me 20% off if I want to keep the DVD or he can give me a full refund to send the movie back.

So far, they keep thinking that I haven't received the movie and have credited me in full for the Blu-Ray even though I keep telling them that I'd just like to receive the item that I ordered.

Let me know if you find any other place to send an email too, because this is getting me nowhere fast. I swear it's an automated response since the content seems to be identical everytime I get an email back.

Yeah, I'm done ordering from "Hollywood Video". Between the $2 price hike, the rental dvd cases, and the fact that on my last order, three items were cancelled before the order shipped, and yet, I was charged for them (meaning I'm going to have to contact them to let them know they owe me over $20), it's just not worth the hassle anymore. Blu-Ray prices are dropping and even BBV has lowered their prices on used Blu-Rays. This doesn't have the same appeal it used to.

I'm starting to get annoyed now. I put my orders in Friday, they charged my card on sunday and monday, and my order still says processing. Is this normal?

Also, I hate when a company doesn't respond to my emails. Argh.

The customer service is beyond horrible. I think they have one person responding to all of their emails, and he sucks at being a customer service rep.

Do they send an email saying your order has been shipped or do they even update the order status on their site? I made an order last thursday and my order status still says processing?
