Holy Badman! (aka Namaikida) Coming Stateside! - Demo Out Now

IIRC it's a game where you're the evil master/creator of a dungeon, and your goal is to kill off all adventurers who wander through it by raising monsters, making traps, labyrinths, etc.

Yep, it's being published by NIS America, Siliconera has some screens of the English version.

EDIT: Worth clarifying that "Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman: What Did I Do to Deserve This?" is a localization of the first game.

fuck YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't been this happy in a while for a game... strangely enough I've made a music video artwork based around influence I had from this game... >_<

yes!

the only thing that I kinda am sad about is that it's the release of the first version of the game and dosn't look to be Orz 2, but I'm guessing Orz 2 will be released later at some point.

fuck yes!!!!!!!!!1

I downloaded the demo a few months ago and I really wanted a stateside release. I'm disappointed it's the first game though.

well, Orz 2 is not even a sequil but an expansion. It's more a full game than the original since people complained about the original's length.

I love how Orz 2 has DLC as well, but you have to pay. It would be the first game I'd willingly pay for the DLC since the new modes really change things up alot (ie. play as "Badman's" wife).

Let's see if NIS America is smart enough to price it at Patapon level. I'm okay with essentially a 1.5 update if it only costs me $20 twice. Patapon pricing was a smart way to get people that would usually buy used to just drop $20 for a new copy because it's so cheap.

Yuusha 30 be next on the love train please!

Looking at the screens and such, yeah, $20 seems about right.

Thanks to the OP for putting this on my radar. Gotta love the title, hopefully it will have a reasonable price.

I just read on Kotaku that this should be getting a July release. I may have to day one this one.

Anyone know what happened to the release date for this? I can't find it anywhere on Gamestop's site and Gamefaqs doesn't have it listed anymore on their upcoming releases.

I'm still getting it, but it's a bit disappointing that they are going the digital route with this title. I would rather have a physical copy of this unusual game. Oh well.

ahhh reminds me of the great series on PS1 called "Kagero Deception" damn they were awesome

EDIT: after looking at them screens, I take back my above statement....this game does not look too good at all

I called this shit!... right?

$20 pricepoint Patapon-style and Yuusha 30 is also getting released. May my luck continue to cling onto my back.

I am currently in love with digital distribution. If this game wasn't PSN exclusive, it would probably be 29.99-39.99 MSRP, just like every other NIS products

If Steambot Chronicles disappoints, I think this is going to make an excellent substitute. Going with DD and the lower price point seems like a great fit for this.
Shocked they would allow psn to pull this... I would of paid 30 or 40 for the game, but wont give a penny for a download only game...
On principle alone?

That seems to border on the illogical, especially coming from a CAG....

Initially I was disappointed in the news of Badman going DD only, but after having FF7 downloaded on my PSP I'm in love with the idea. No more swapping discs and having to decide which ones to bring with me and lug them around in my bag. Also, I doubt this game would have been $20 if it were on UMD. I'll be getting this day one.

Mother fucking son of a fucking whore fuck. This better be the first and last game they put to be download only on the PSP that I want. I really don't want to support something that I detest, but my want of this game is too great.

I could make a ten page essay out of my stance on the policies of companies that deal with virtual media and piracy/drm, but I don't think it would be very fun to write out for discussion. :p

I just felt like venting a little anger in the form of fuck. For some reason it's amusing and helps ease the pain ever so slightly.

Ill settle for four or five concrete reasons on how the Sony policies are flawed...

What exactly do you envision as the ideal (and realistic) method for approaching DD content? I can understand the lack of resale argument, however Sony circumvents most other arguments in that they allow unlimited redownloads and gamesharing.

Ordered a PSP through the Amazon trade in deal. This game looks great... this will be a day 1 purchase for me. And I am so glad it is DD!
