GGXX
Dark Cloud 2 (2 copies)
R-Type Final
King of Fighters 2000/2001
Sly Cooper
Romance of the 3 Kingdom 7
Gallop Racer 2003
Onimusha 2

XBOX
2 copies PSOIandII

GAMECUBE
NBA Street 2

Today (SAT) It was buy 2 get 1 free so I made out great

Keep in mind the B2G1 is just today.

I'd have to go well out of my way to go to a CompUSA and I've been feeling like my heart needs a new start motor or something today. So I guess I'll pass on this one.

I would pick up, GGXX, R-Type Final, and Sly Cooper. Too bad I'm stuck at home baby-sitting my niece and nephew. Anyone want to pick these up for me, I'll pay $25 shipped?

Counting tax and shipping of such heavy items, I don't think $25 would cover it.

In case anyone was curious , I didnt see anything in CompUSA in midtown manhattan aside from the usual clearace junk that no one buys... although I probably should pick up a copy of eternal darkness one day just to have it in my collection.

(I did however pick a nice 250gb HD for 99 bucks and a 100 DVDr spindle for 20 bucks.)

chunlirocks--since you bought 2 copies of PSO 1 and 2, will you sell me your double? Let me know how much you would want. Thanks!

some of the stores are pulling merchandise to the back so that they have a lot when the ad breaks Sunday. They'll put it all on Sunday.

Oh, how much do you think would be a fair price then?

Assuming 7% tax + envelope + First Class shipping + Delivery Confirmation = ~ $26-$27. Depending how you ship, you're just off by $2, so it's not that far off. But it would be a shame if someone who helped you pick it up made a loss because of his good deed. I wish this was happening at my CompUSA, but I have no way of checking until tomorrow. :?

Thanks for posting this.

I went to Montgomeryville, got there at 9:50 and most of the stuff was picked over. I did get Battle Engine Aquilla, Eternal Darkness, King of Fighters 00/01, P.N. 03, ESPN Baseball and Splinter Cell.

The buy 2 get 1 free didn't come off of the total so I asked the cashier about it. She said there was no such deal and I pulled the ad off the counter and showed it her. She then said it only applies to full priced games and not $9.99 games. I showed her that the ad says ANY PS2, Xbox or Gamecube game. She then went back to the manager's office for around 5 minutes. Then someone else came over and asked me if I needed help, I told him what was going on and he said he would take care of it. So he rang up everything again this time with the Buy 2 Get 1 Free. So after about 10 minutes of waiting, they finally did honor it.

Thanks for the estimation. If someone can do $30 shipped without lossing money on this, let me know. Thanks!

My CompUSA had a rack & I snagged these for $9.88 each:

Lufia: The Ruins of Lore - GBA
Super Puzzle Fighter 2 - GBA
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past - GBA

I've seen used copies at GameRush for either $14.99 or $16.99, can't remember which but its definately one of them...

CompUSA SUCKS! they had nothing, but 25 copies of Minority Report for 4.99! Tekken 4 was 18.99, but that is not worth it.

Yeah so I went over there and was like "I heard you guys are having a sale today with a bunch of games priced at $5"
"Yeah I think the cart is over here."

There wasn't much but I was somewhat interested. I was gonna get Defender, Backyard Wrestling, DMC2, RE:CV, ..hack: Outbreak and maybe something else I don't remember.

So I asked the lady standing there if they were $5 and she said I don't know. And I was like "Well could ya ring this up for me?" and she said yeah and took a while. So I reminded her, she rang it up and said no it's not $5. So I went over to some other guy and asked and he said they are $15 but you get a gift certificate at the register. I didn't realize they were redeemable for cash, AND I didn't really appreciate the associates being so rude so I left... eh.. Then I went across the street to check out BB's selectoin. I really wish I had got BB to price match the B2G1F yesterday :(

Well, rude doesn't BEGIN to describe my experience today...

Before I start, let me remind everyone that the ad says STARTING at $4.99, so they can start as low as 5 and they get much higher than that... for example, the Kobe game pictured in the ad? $35... I am NOT kidding... on to my story...

I get there at opening and I find the shelves that have the games on it. They had it labeled 'under X' with the X meaning multples of 5. I see that the other shelves have nothing or regular price items on the 20 shelf so I work backward. 15, nothing but Midnight Club II on Xbox was tempting. 10 nothing but again Wave Race Blue Storm was 11 but I didn't want it. Under 5, I saw Blinx and I'm thinking it must be on the wrong rack but it has a price tag on it stating $4.99. They had 3 copies that said the same thing so I'm thinking it's gotta be real.

I go to the register and they ring it up and say '52.43'... ahem... what? but what about the price tag on this and three others? I point out the tag and the cashier goes into 'I'm an idiot' mode and goes to get a manager. The manager looks at it and says, you're right, no problem sir I'll correct this for you... and the asshole puts a $49.99 sticker on the fucking box!!! So after I paid with my Platinum Hell No I Ain't Buying This Shit card, I left disgusted...

I don't believe they can legally do that. They have to sell it as marked.

Well I just got back and I picked up House of the Dead III even though I don't own an XBOX I heard it was hard to find, anyone want to trade for it?

The CompUSA by me in Springfield, NJ really blows when it comes to games. I guess they have given up trying to sell them with 3 GS, an EB, WalMart, Target, CC, and BB all within one mile along the highway.

I still went by this morning, and they still had crud. One quick question, do you get the $10 gift card whatever thing for every game or just select ones? I saw one or two $15 games I wouldn't mind getting for $5.

I went to Compusa yesterday (Saturday) in Emeryville, CA

I didnt see anything special. I was specifically looking at Xbox titles though. And yes, the customer service has a lot to be desired at this store; But then again, I knew from insiders that this paticular store was mismanaged.

Still, its not all doom and gloom at that store. They do occasionally have good sales on computer equipment and I like going there to browse sometimes. But it definately not a place you want to go if youre impatient.

It was rare, but sega made some more copies. Both Fry's and Gemstop have copies for $20. Plus, that about how much it is selling on ebay.

CompUSA is like Wal-Mart. 5% of us go to the good stores while 95% of us get screwed.

Just recently, the local CompUSA had X-Files: Resist or Serve (PS2) on "clearance" for $47.88! The MSRP at release was $29.99!

bet your ass its illegal

arrived at my local CompUSA at 10:25am, Sunday. there wasn't any 'ALL $9.99' games, it was a few 'select' titles only; and there wasn't any $4.99 games at all.

the selection was dramatically larger though, for every platform, it looked like they empted out the backroom. they did PM EB for me.

my score:
madden nfl 2004 $4.99
nhl 2004 $4.99 (w/$10 mail-in rebate)
nba streets vol. 2 $9.88

My local best buy has tons of these for $10, so you might want to give that a shot

You guys really need to send an email to ComoUSA, I think there is a link on the website. They'll smack the managers around if they mistreat customers, also getting in touch with the regional manager will help.

CompUSA is really trying to turn around, but if they don't get told where the probelms are they won't know who needs fixed. My friend that works there says the management at her store really cares about customers but other stores are a bit of crap.

As far as mispriced items; that varies from state to state. Many states allow for the store to make a pricing mistake and not honor it if that particualr item was not advertised and if advertised they get a break if they post a disclaimer in the store but some states require a posting in the paper that the ad was run in. Other states will fine them, not a lot, but a $1,000 fine for not honoring a $40 difference will make some stores honor the price and fix the rest right away.

This is why many stores do not price the individual items, they'll have price tags with the UPC code or description so instead of changing 50 price stickers they only have to change one tag.

But you need to write to the main headquearters, I sent a few emails and had the company say the store was wrong and that they would take care of me. A friend who works at Rhino told me any compliant that seems half vaild gets the complainer a $10 gift certificate and a cupon that allows you to get a trade-in value for what they sell a used version for.

I used to work there. It paid quite well but it was a horrible overall experience. Management sucks and everything was so unorganized. The stock system was so screwy. All of us employees would always go to BB after work/during breaks to buy stuff. If you wanted to buy anything with employee discount it took like a week to process it and a manager would have to sign it for approval. So much BS there.

All the CompUSA's by me (in NJ) have their games under glass, and of course there's nobody around usually. So you have to find a salesperson to open the glass and that alone is a pain. I got lucky on Sat in one of the Paramus stores, where there was a very helpful and nice woman who would actually help you find a game.

CompUSA for me was a complete waste of time.

There was only game out of 50 titles that was $4.99 and only a couple close to $10.

Ticked me off that I wasted 30 minutes for nothing. They were so disorganized, they made a landfill look organized.

CompUSA, Schaumburg IL:

Two bins and a rolling rack filled with PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games. Printed clearance prices were not accurate -- i.e., some games still listed as 34.99, 29.99... no "9.99 game sale" there.

...and the ad on the carts says something like "games starting at 4.99, with prices taken down with a gift card in-store, by mail, or otherwise noted. Please see store specialist for details." Very vague and poorly worded.

Well, this may be the case, but I went up to counter to see how much Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is, and the manager says... "well, I'll give it to you half off, because it's the last one." -- 17.88.

I got that and the Italin Job for 12.88. I know TIJ sucks but I wanted it anyway.

It seems that the barter system is in place there. You can probably talk them down if you're sweet. :)

I did see 1 lonely copy of Ikaruga there, so someone better go save it.

The CompUSA I visited today was full of idiots, they had a table full of games with a paper presenting them as the clearance games, but none were on sale. All the games were full price and they tried to tell me that they had no games for $5 dollars and to get the discount I had to send off a rebate so I just dropped the games on the counter and walked away without a word, just turned around and left.

 haha. awesome. i woulda done the same thing

This is definitely YMMV, but the CompUSA in Oxnard, California was overflowing with discounted games. There were literally hundreds of games labeled "Manager's Special", and the prices were slashed since the last time I checked. Also, all of the Manager's Special games $15 and over were eligible for a $10 mail-in rebate...So I ended up snatching a good load of $20 games for $10 after rebate. Some examples:
- Gladius: marked at $20, got for $10
- Fugitive Hunter: marked at $20, got for $10
- DBZ: Budokai 2 PS2: marked at $20, got for $10
- Soldier of Fortune 2 Xbox: marked at $20, got for $10
- Wolftenstein: $10 (not eligible for rebate)
- X-men Next Dimension PS2 $10 (not eligible for rebate)

Still a lot there as of this afternoon - although I saw a number of questionable folks running towards the shelves after I left, so no guarantees that there's still anything good left.
