Holy shit, CheapyD Moves to Tokyo on Halloween!

How can I find me a rich sugarmama that will bring me to Japan D:!?
TIEM to goto E3 and hit on all the Foreign GUESTS!

Cheapy-

On the off-chance that this will become relevant to ya...

I'll be arriving in Tokyo around early Febuary or March to begin a study-abroad semester, lasting until late July. It'll most likely be at Sophia University, in Chiyoda. There's still a chance (waiting to see if I get a scholarship) that I'll be at Rikkyo University instead, in Ikebukuro.

Where in Tokyo are you going to be, if you don't mind throwing it out there? And I definitely owe you some drinks for the greatness that is CAG, should you ever want to take me up on it.
Good luck. I plan to live in Japan once I get the money (and learn their language).
GET DA MONIES!
Good luck. I plan to live in Japan once I get the money (and learn their language).
learning the language would help,

anyways, I plan on doing a study abroad thing over the summer in 2007 after I complete my 3rd year of Japanese,

good luck on the move cheapy,
I moved from oregon to texas last year, and that was hard enough,
I cant imagine from new york to japan
Does CheapyD speak any Japanese?
Not really. Luckily his wife can, so she's been teaching him stuff so he's more than just the tall, bald, white guy who doesn't know Japanese.
Getting a a japanese citizenship is absurdly difficult, you also have to give up your present citizenship (in this case american).
Actually, my buddy Nando is both a citizen of Japan and America. He's a teacher over in Japan (Mexican-American teaching Japanese kids English and a lil Spanish), and he's acknowledged by the Japanese government as a Japanese citizen. He's been over there 5 years so, and he got his citizenship 2 years ago.

Of course, the easier method is to marry a japanese girl, and you get citizenship after you live there I think 2 years.

Good luck there Cheapy. I put more goody info in my posts on the contest thread.

CheapyD must go to McDonalds and must try their new shrimp burger.

Yesterday (Monday 10/17) was my last at work.
My co-workers threw a little going away party for me which included a few Kirins. We already had the official going-away party early this month, which consisited of $10/person all you can sing karaoke for 5 hours and $26 all you can eat Japanese buffet.

Everyone seems really excited for me and are looking forward to being guests at the Hotel Cheapy Tokyo. Even the President of the non-profit organiazation I work(ed) at told me he was jealous.

Its pretty amazing to me that very soon I will be "living the dream", working on CAG full time, and having all kinds of advertures in Japan. The possibilities are only limited by my (and your) imagination. I will quite literally be Your Man In Japan!

With less than two weeks left, there is a ton of packing/trashing to do between now and then. Additionally, we are moving the CAG server this week. So yeah, lots to do and not much time left in the USA.

I dunno cheapy it seems kinda similar to the plot of the Grudge, I would avoid being a caretaker for anybody's parents if you know whats good for ya.

Whoa. On Halloween. Kinda creepy. I'm going to a NIN concert on Halloween. It's not going to be the same without you here in the states. Does this mean no more XBox Live races?!?! :(

I went to confirm the spelling and googled it, and found out its the original Grudge. Duh!

Anyway, Mrs. Cheapy and I agree that its about as creepy as possible!

well atleast you now know what not to do if you run into that situation.

It's only half creepy, since the Japanese don't officially celebrate Halloween.

Which is weird, because they go crazy over anything Nightmare Before Christmas.
well atleast you now know what not to do if you run into that situation.
Yeah, don't go into the fucking house!
Well if you dont already know that song is a reference to the face one makes when they orgasim.
No its not that's a Myth, It was about the influx of Jap. culture, products, and bussines in the 1980 There was a time when people truly believed the US was going to get taken over (corporately) by the Japaneses

Flying out on Halloween.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.
That is all.
What made you decide to turn Japanese in the first place Sir Cheapy?
Yeah, don't go into the fucking house!
Thus CheapyD is one of the few people that would ever survive a horror movie.

Tokyo neccesities

Be sure to have all the food and stuff you can't get in Tokyo. Mexican food in general. Salsa and sauces. Peanut butter, etc. . . That are really expensive and impossible to find. And from my experiences in Taiwan be sure to have some stuff in english to keep yourself from losing your mind.
What made you decide to turn Japanese in the first place Sir Cheapy?
Mrs. Cheapy got a job that has stationed her in Japan so Cheapy is moving with her.

I'd love it if you took a videocamera into one of the used video game stores and gave us a tour, so we could see all of the old japanese videogames and stuff. I hear old videogames are big business over there.

Awesome news sir!

We should totally start up a CAG in Japan thread or something, haha!

When you get here you HAVE TO check out GEO, the greatest used game store EVER!

Tobal 2 - 280 Yen
Sin & Punishment - 1280 Yen
etc!

Congrats and good luck!

All game systems are officially packed.
Gamecube (and GBA SP) is traveling by sea, Xbox by air, and PStwo will be in my luggage!
Of course the PSP will be a carry on.

The movers are coming Friday afternoon.

Get the hell out of my country, and don't come back!

I'm kidding. Are you sad? Nervous? I'm so routine, i'd be paranoid if I move.. even a street over, much less out of the country! Aside from the lack of family and friends, is there anything that you'll miss? The little things, perhaps?

Best of luck with the move. Hopefully this place won't burn to the ground while you're in the skies...

Moving is a pain in the ass normally. I can only imagine what this will be like.

But I hope all goes well, Cheapy. Hope you get your home together and get into the swing of things as quickly as possible, and I hope you enjoy your new life over in Japan. Just aslong as you make time for us, too. :)

It's a bit late to reconsider anyway.
Does Japan have jails?
No, they just let murderers and rapists run loose on the streets.
