I just got Daxter and I had no idea the PSP was capable of graphics this good.

It looks just like Jak and Daxter on the PS2! And the loading is seamless!

Why don't other PSP games look this good? If a newbie developer can do it on a relatively new platform, why are the major development studios slacking off?

I think Daxter was released in March along with Pursuirt Force and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror. I think PSP really started to hit its stride then, SF also has great loading times and graphics. I don't really remember Pursuit Force's loading times, but the graphics were pretty good, some slow downs noticable.

The PSP is amazing and has huge potential. There are many games that show it can be done right. It looks like Monster Hunter is going to be the next AAA must have PSP game.

^^^Monster Hunter Freedom got a 4/10 from the latest Game Informer. It did well in Japan, but I think the lack of online will turn off westerners more than it did the Japanese.

Was the single player good though?

It's basiaclly an enhanced port of a PS2 MMO, with the glaring omission of online play. I Assume offline it's as fun as PSO was offline.

It's still got adhoc co-op though.

Monster Hunter wasn't very well received on PS2 either, by reviewers, so it doesn't surprise me. I heard the single player is actually pretty deep, compared to Monster Hunter on PS2. I might get it, because I want a decent single player over multi-player.

Anyway, as for Daxter, it is a terrific game. The graphics are great, but the gameplay is what's really great. It's my favorite platform game on a handheld, by far. I love the soundtrack too. I can't wait for R&C on PSP.

Which Game Informer is this since my newest one doesn't seem to have the monster hunter freedom score in it....

EGM said many of the bosses and enemies in Monster Hunter Freedom are extremely tough to take on alone, so it sounds like the game was obviously made for multiplayer.

Hmm... First Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max lacks multiplayer and now this... Are you there, Capcom?

WOW 4/10 i thought it was gonna be AAA and i was also under influence it was online? How many people use xlink Kai and does it work with 2.7?
