Does anyone have this:

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-ic-49-en-70-1bxx.html

Is it stiff? I notice one of the poor reviews mentions it bends. It collapses down and fits in the stylus slot of the lite, right?

Using the standard stylus my hand covers part of the screen when poking at stuff on the left side, some games it's more of a pain than others, but I would like to get a longer stylus.

Or if anyone has used another one they'd rec, please do.

I bought a set for my original Nintendo DS. On those, the extension was flimsy, but nothing bad if you're not rough on the stylus. They were very handy and if these DS Lite styli are anything like them then I'd recommend them, no doubt.

Moritoys "Stretch Touch Pen Lite" is quite good. It's extendable, but it's also made of metal which makes it sturdy, plus it fits perfectly in the DS Lite slot. They've been OOS for quite a while at Play-asia, but the Pink and Blue one seems to be in stock again:

(If you go for it, I recommend getting it ASAP before it goes OOS)
(Edit: Whoops, it looks like they went OOS again...that was quick :( I recommend putting it in your wishlist - if interested - nonetheless for when they do pop up again. Well worth the price)

I also recently got the Hori "Touch Pen Attachement" which I've found pretty good. It takes the stretch style you've linked, but comes with a pen shell you can put it in.

It's basically the same exact thing you've listed (2 extendable stylus), but for an extra $1, you get a pen shell case. That way, one can be in the system for on the go, and the other can be in the pen case for home use :)

Looks just like the extendable stylus that came with the EB/GS preorder special for the Castlevana: Portrait of Ruin.

I love it. Easier to play with a longer stylus.

Thanks for the feedback everybody.

greydt - Does the pen attachment come with a hori long stylus, or are you just saying you can put that in it if you already have one?

I'll probably go ahead and order the Hori ones since it'd only be about $7 or so and they are in stock.

I got a set of two from the Nintendo store in NYC and they crack after a day of use. If not for that, I'd say they're awesome.

It comes as a package: 2 hori long stylus + a plastic pen shell that fits the stylus inside (allowing it to have fatter grip).

It's basically like ordering a regular set of 2 hori long stylus, but for an extra $1, you also get the pen shell.

i had one, it was nice. fit well in the ds and was more comfortable in my hand. the only problem is the plastic slowly bent, eventually cracked, and finally broke. id like to get newones, but im way lazy. if youre going to get 1, get 3... or more
Is that stylus flimsy like most extendable styli? I hate that about them.
It is rather flimsy. I have a set of those and they cracked to the point where it will fall apart if you try to extend it. I'm not rough on my DS/Stylus either. It's nice that it fits inside the DS but not worth it because of the weak plastic casing IMO.

I've had mine since the DS launched (actually, I got it before I got the DS since PlayAsia had it in stock long before).

It's so much better than using the tiny regular stylus. It's not a replacement for those comfy, extra thick stylus that won't fit into the DSL's stylus slot but it's damn worth the $5.

If you're looking for 'em, check a local store, possibly, to save on shipping charges. After ordering a set from Play-Asia a few months back (with enough use to have 'em crack and eventually break), I was actually surprised to see a local Micro Center carry 'em (though, with English packaging. Same exact product, though).

Verdict -- hand cramps a bit if you're not used to holding something that long & thin -- but after you get used to holding it, it's quite nice. Because the transparent tubing does crack, though, I recommend it more for games that don't require heavy action (like say, EBA/Ouendan), as cracking will otherwise occur more rapidly.

For heavy-action games, a non-extending already-long stylus works better.
Looks just like the extendable stylus that came with the EB/GS preorder special for the Castlevana: Portrait of Ruin.
If you'll look around on the top edge of that CV stylus, you'll actually see the Hori logo on there. The two-game case was also made by Hori (as I saw while searching through Play Asia).

And maybe it was just me, but the non-CV Hori extending stylus actually felt like it had a little firmer transparent tubing.

I didnt review the Hori Touch Pen Long Stylus but I have reviewed extendable metal stylus for the DS Lite. it fits in the slot too.

I'll reiterate what I said above - sooner rather than later the Hori ones will crack. it's a great idea, but if there's one with sturdier plastic, or metal, go with that.

Good tip on Micro Center carrying extendable styli. I have one of those pretty close to me, have to see what they carry before ordering.

Kind of wish I could get a metal one now that I hear all the talk of this plastic one wearing out with use.

And I think I will go for the set with the pen attachment for just $1 more if I order from p-a.

However I just checked microcenter and they have them on the site, looks like I can order for in-store pick up at my local store. ($6 there) Thanks for the tip Warg.

Looks like gamestop has this: http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=802619 I don't really trust their store look up thing though. Never seems accurate in my area.
