Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth Remix Few questions
So, has anyone actually played it yet? Namely Roufuss and fatbeer, who seem to be the only ones who found it?

I'm gonna go looking later today after I get off work.
Fatbeer posted a positive review a page back.

I'm saving it for my trip tomorrow so I won't be digging into it tonight, sadly.

Rule of thumb, don't listen to any Slidecage review on an RPG, as he nitpicks the dumbest, most inane shit possible. I'd hate for someone to be turned off by the game by a review that probably won't make a lot of sense. Here is Fatbeer's early impressions:

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3064941&postcount=36

The easy mode basacially nixes many of the complaints people originally had about the game.

It superior to ps1 version on almost every single aspect except game mechanics. That remains unchanged.Look at official website for more details on battle system. Some people enjoy it for tactical strategy and some people hate it due to it complexity and linear skill tree. It all depends on users.

i don't recall game plus in original version. It's not a big deal since multiple endings are really easy to achieve if you got all the characters. Just let them die before you beat the game. The ds version have 7 save files, great for multiple choices in branching storyline.

cool, i was wondering how many save slots there was... No game in the mail today and now when i go to amazon it says no tracking found (sounds like they never sent it)

If i dont get it tomorrow by gamefly I probally Just go over to ebgames and try to find it. If i do get it from amazon i just return it

According to RPG Gamer there is a quicksave during battles. According to Gamepro there isn't. So which one is talking out there ass?

There is no quicksave during battle for this game. It would be nice if they included it. Does it really matter on easy or normal mode? You get double xp. It does have special save slot for stages you have to fight two in row.

Jezzz.. the double xp is really broken when combo with relite xp trick. You gain one level after one or two uses. Figure that equation with coinfeign formulas you become unstoppable. It looks like I'm going to beat this game like faster than I thought. I'm not abusing it too much until I get all special characters. I hate to level them up later in the game
People still having a hard time find these? Most of 50 gamestop around here have 4 or more copies of Hoshigami. I think it's another one of those over exaggerated rpg fans saying this is rare

i think it was RARE in the first week since it seems the supplier had problems with shipping. Our local Eb at glenbrook only got 2 and said they probally wont get anymore. (not cause its rare its cause noone is asking for it)

I just went out today and got it for 31.79 at eb. I will return the AMazon one monday back to amazon (that is if it even comes)

Also got to run back monday and dump the gamefly one back in the mail monday if it comes (its been 4 days and still no game --- i think it got lost )

Before i open it IS IT WORTH 31 bucks. HOw long do you think it will take you to beat the game is it pure to its ps1 roots

game really needs an in game save mode. That 2nd battle took me over an hour ... Im starting to remember this game from the ps 1. I was thiniking it was something else and really didnt care for it on the PS1 LOL

O well at least its something to take on the road , it does seem the box lied and there is no way its going to take 50 hours to beat this game. Maybe on hard mode But no way in hell its going to take 50 hours on normal .

(I picked normal, easy just sounded too easy)

Yes, I too was tempted to pick it up then I remembered I really didn't care for the original.

Typically game boxes lie gameplay hours, I think they write them assuming you've never played an RPG before.;)

I finally beat this game. It's pretty long game, it takes about 30-35 to beat on normal mode. Maybe, longer if you do the bonus tower. They should really add a built in game save, some battles just drag too long. Overall, it pretty good game for turn based strategy rpg fans who want a new outlook with it RAP battle system. It doesn't feel like a must have game like puzzle quest. Story is pretty mediocre with it's typical jrpg storyline and battle mechanics is really broken when using archers or mages, they use less RAP points. Most of their attacks are really long range.

This a mini faq for those who don’t want to do the research and just get straight to the point,
useful information such as fast experience and coin growth without explaining the complicated stuff.

How does engraving systems work ?
Engraving is essential tool to boost things like magical attack strength or reduce cost.

system_03_33.gif

Look at picture above, all you really need to know is the assist of each element. To find a strong assist move clockwise by 2 spaces and the weak assist move counter clockwise by 2 spaces.

Example- Let's look at Amu(red) first. To find the strong assist,we move clockwise by two space which is Kashi(green). To find the weak assist, we move counter clockwise by two space which is ema(gray).

When combine properly, it can yeild high results. When we combine a level 1 strong assist and level 6 weak assist in it's corresponding color it will give you a huge stat boost.

Example- Let's use Amu again. We know that strong assist is Kashi with a corresponding color of green, so we use level 1 green type. The weak assist is Ema with a corresponding color of gray, so we use level 6 gray . When we combine the two in Amu coin it will yield a high stat boost.

To level a coin you need to fulfilled the requirements.

Level 1 to 2: MCP-30 POT-40
Level 2 to 3: MCP-50 POT-60 AOE-5
Level 3 to 4: MCP-70 POT-110 AOE-13

You can level up your coins with variety of ways- emblem or with two level one strong or weak assist.

I always wonder why people mention this for portable games. Can't you just close the DS/flick the switch on the PSP? Or do you really switch to other games that often?
