I work at Radioshack too, and I don't really think there is much worthwhile on this sale... but most of the items you can take the sku (such as 1200822) and search for it at Radioshack.com and check out a picture. Plus, calling local stores with catalog #s makes it really easy to check stock if there is something specific you're looking for.

Yes indeed. I got to the location at Northtown Mall (Blaine, MN). I almost freaked out when I saw the price sticker, which showed this item originally being $40. They didn't even have a $3.74 clearance price sticker up, instead it was one for around $19. Thankfully it did come up at its $3.74 price. One of the employees looked pissed at me since he didn't know about it himself. Me thinks I stole the deal he was looking forward to getting. :lol:

Same question here, can someone please answer quick because they have them in stock here and I'm going back to school tomorrow. I'd like to know if is something that I can actually put to use since my TV here supports component inputs but the ones I'm bringing to school is very basic.

Old TV's that only have a coaxil connection on the back. You can directly hook up a ps2 with RCA connections to an old analog (coaxil connection) tv with this item. Great deal if you have a TV that doesnt have RCA connections on it.

I believe it also converts analog to digital. If you have something with analog sound, you can hook it up to this and then hook the converter up to something that accepts Toslink/optical cables.

So I gave them a call and they said that it doesn't allow something with composite outputs (like a PS2) to hook up to something with just a coaxial connection. I guess an RF modulator is the only option for this function, and I already have one of those although its not in the best shape. This basically just allows something that only has S-video output to hook up to something that only has composite inputs. Correct me if I'm wrong but the only use I can really think of for this is connecting from a PC to a TV? I can't really think of anything that only has an S-video output without also having the option of composite inputs. Thanks anyway for the list OP. There's some other good stuff on there that I wish I had the money for.

I tried scanning the list and couldn't find it, so I'll see if anyone else did: Are the KVM switches a part of this clearance? The ones that allow you to run two PCs off one set of monitor, keyboard + mouse.

The item in question lets you take the signal from your VCR and upconvert it to, say, an SVideo signal along with letting you hook your analog audio to your optical/toslink input on your home theater reciever.

Great deal for $3.74 indeed.

Rather than start a new thread, I though I'd mention this here. A few of the RS stores around me had the Hauppauge MediaMVP media server (RS #25-3215) for $39.99, reg. $79.99. This is a wired unit, but I have mine going through a wireless-g bridge. Plenty of bandwidth for streaming video mpegs. There is also alternate firmware available that lets you stream from a ReplayTV. They're a little strange in that the firmware is loaded dynamically over the network every time the MVP is rebooted (power off/on). I ended up buying two of them, I left one stock and set up the other for ReplayTV streaming. That was kind of a PITA to do, but it does work well. The new replacement firmware is alpha-level code, and there are a lot of features missing for general media streaming duties, so I just use that one for ReplayTV, and the other for everything else. At any rate, it's hightly recommended, and at $40 there's really no other device I've found that can top it.

the best use I can think of with this thing for me would be to hook-up my Gamecube with an optical cable instead of those damn composite jacks for the sound. I doubt it would improve the sound but I would really like to hook it up that way.
