Midway's highly anticipated World War II FPS title, Hour of Victory, will be live and playable for the first time next week via XBOX LIVE® Marketplace. Midway will release an exciting single-player teaser demo on Wednesday, May 30, providing a glimpse of the game's cinematic and frenetic gameplay in advance of Hour of Victory's march to retail stores in June.

The Hour of Victory demo will give the player a sneak peak into the rugged North African level. Players will be able to pick any of the three characters in the game, the Covert Operative, specializing in stealth and sabotage; a British Commando specializing in the guns-blazing frontal assault; or an Army Ranger who specializes in sniping and demolitions.

Hour of Victory allows you to play a key role in the pivotal and cinematic battles from the European and North African theaters of World War II, using the skills and gameplay style you choose. Sneak into enemy territory as a covert operative, storm the gates as a British Commando, or snipe from afar as an Army Ranger. Each character's unique attributes will be needed for the fulfillment of the overall objective. Only with all these skills working closely together will you be able to say that you helped define the Hour of Victory.

Built using the powerful Unreal® Engine 3.0, Hour of Victory combines authentic details from historic World War II battles and adds in frenetic and cinematic gameplay. Players will also be able to take control of any vehicle on the battlefield whenever they wish as they sharpen their skills to impact the key battles from the European and North African Theaters.

Never really paid much attention to this game, didn't even realize it was coming out so soon. I'll give it a shot.

" Can climb in and out of any situation". That quote scares me since they show him climbing up a ladder.
Does this mean the other two cant climb? If there is a freaking ladder, I expect everyone would know how to use one.

I'll give it a go since ww2 fps are my favorite, but I hope I'm reading too much into it. It would really ruin the immersion if only that one guy was able to climb a ladder.

I also hope it's not another rail shooter since COD3 pretty much won that award and we don't need another half assed ww2 rail shooter for 360.

Unreal Engine (this has to be the best engine ever!.. or at least most used). Another World War II game. FPS. By Midway. There is absolutely nothing good about this game other than they are giving away a demo first. I am sure it could be a killer game, but it has the worst set up ever.

I understand the significance of the second world war. But that doesn't mean we need 1000+ games for it. But I'll end up renting this proly. I hate myself sometimes.

There needs to be a world war II game with actual important battles. Most new world war II games have some insignificant battles.

I want to see a game that shows some things like the liberation of the camps for example.

Wow this game sure has skilled soldiers...wish I could climb up a ladder at a 90 degree angle to the ground tacked against the wall using no hands!

Looks an awful lot like CoD..
Seems to be a cool game, but im really waiting for Fall of Liberty.
Yeah I'm also looking forward to that game, since it will be a nice twist on WW2.
I started downloading the Hour of Victory demo today but it was really slow and I was only at around 25% when I turned off my Xbox earlier today. Hopefully it will be faster tomorrow.

Please dear god no more WWII games. I feel like I fucking fought in WWII with all the games I have played based on it.

I will never forget that feeling though, the first time you play Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt and you storm the beaches.

Also Call of Duty had that same crazy feeling of so much going on that you felt like you were actually there.

Let me take this chance to remind everyone why I am SO excited for COD4
Infinity Ward
Open Battlefields
ITS NOT WWII

The demo isn't in the demo place. Go to "Games" in the Marketplace, then Hour of Victory. It's under there.

Also the download has been stuck at 73% for me for about an hour now...

Not on mine.

It was under latest games for me, but god almighty is it ever slow! I thought it was my ISP. I reset my cable modem a few times and it didn't get any faster.
I'm hearing that this game has horrible AI, clunky controls, bad graphics, etc.. anyone try it yet?
AI, Controls, Graphics are about half as good as Call of Duty 2. Enemies die when shot in the arm, yet live through a head shot.

More like Hour of Defeat...

I had more download canceled, then I tried again. It seems MS was fiddling with the demo.

This game is horrible. Awful AI.. sluggish controls.. and for god's sake, the enemies don't even react when they're shot!! It's kinda cool how you can shoot the hat off their head, but honest to god, I popped off two shots in the guy's stomach and one in his leg, he just kept firing at me like I didn't even hit him. He finally ended up dying. I don't think I could've deleted the demo any faster.

I Agree 100%. My god is this thing clunky as all hell.

The default control sensitivity is dialed so low that it feels that you're moving and turning in quicksand. Once you dial it up it almost feels a little too jerky and stuttery - there's almost no happy medium.

The aim-assist feature is a bit off in that it'll lock onto an enemy even when the reticle isn't exactly pointed at them. So what happens is that you'll have the reticle just to the left of an enemy and it'll lock into place where it is - just to the left and still off target. Then if you try and move your body (not the aiming stick) to the right to center the target, you'll automatically start to circle strafe to the right around your enemy and still have your aim be off target. It's just silly.

I only went thru the demo with one of the characters so I didn't try any of the alternate paths open to the other selectable agents, but I can't imagine doing so would make the game any more fun.:whistle2:#

A big disappointment, especially compared to Midway's other recent demo Blacksite, which seems to be oozing with potential.

The only thing this demo accomplished was to make me want to play Call of Duty.

 I'm a big fan of COD2 & 3. I can't wait to give this a shot after work today.

What other WWII game lets you chuck grenades as fast as you can hit the button? Now that's realism.

I'm going to have to side with all the detractors here. "Duty of Publisher" fits it well.

Brother's in Arms should be the last World War 2 shooter ever. Cod4 wont be that great...There arent even tanks, or jeeps in multiplayer. Battlefield: BC is where its at

Apparently it's pulled again. I'm hoping they accidentally put up the wrong build or something, because this game is horrible

It wasn't as bad as most people were saying.

Just be sure to crank up the sensitivity in the option since the default is way too low.

It reminds me of a subpar Call Of Duty 2

WOW!!!! My 1 and a half your old niece can probably draw better than the graphics look like on this game.

I shot a guy in the face and he fell forward...hmmmmm...It seems like he would go back, but I guess not. Looks like it should be on PS1. Deleted immediately after playing for 5 mins.

The demo was pretty heinous.

"Mushy" is the best word to describe it.
