How are you guys Obtaining your 360 if Even

1 pre-ordered with $ at local EB(launch shipment)
1 pre-ordered with credit at local Gamestop(launch shipment)
1 won with the Mountain Dew Every 10 Minute Contest(will get before launch)

Might get my $ back from EB right before launch, if there does not look like there will be much of a E-Bay market for these, but will put the one from Gamestop up on E-Bay for sure.

Uhh, "preorder (core)" and "preorder (regular)" is the same thing. I think you mean premium instead of regular.

Guess I'm technically on the 2nd shipment, but GS is scratching the backs of those who pay in full in advance
I'm not getting one, it's the next-gen dreamcast.
ha! how do you figure....there many reasons why the DC failed, none of which are applicable to the 360, except an early launch.

I am getting one for free (Regular Edition), but I'm not sure if it will get here before Christmas, so I am going to Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, ETC.. until I find one.
Uhh, "preorder (core)" and "preorder (regular)" is the same thing. I think you mean premium instead of regular.
nope. the premium version is the regular version, look at the "premium" xbox 360 boc all it says is: Xbox 360

and the core box says: Xbox 360 Core

as if they the core system isn't a real system.

Regular=premium
Uhh, "preorder (core)" and "preorder (regular)" is the same thing. I think you mean premium instead of regular.
Just being realistic. People will get it when they see core as the other option too.
The whole purpose of the core bundle is to make it seem like you're getting a better value out of the "real" core system. It's a strategy to make 399 seem like not so much a price jump.
waiting outside of BB. GameRush screwed me.
My local EB screwed me, and I'm in the same boat. I was told by multiple employees that I was in the first shipment, and now I'm magically in the second one within a month from launch... fucked up my whole game plan. Makes me wonder how many employees bumped their friends to the top.

Now I'm going to have to hunt for one at Best Buy, Target, Sear, ect.

When I was in college and had apparently too much time I did an overnight thing for the original Xbox which was a waste of time. I'm prob gonna show up at 5am. you guys think that's early enough to get one?

I'll get it sometime between next summer and the first price drop. If I haven't gotten it yet, I'll be getting it the day that Bioware RPG (Mass Effect?) comes out.

I put never since 10+ years from now is pretty far away. Unless 360 has a huge amount of killer titles that must be bought (and no, halo 3 doesnt mean shit for me) then I'm waiting for a long time.

I'm still waiting to get an Xbox, so 360 is a looong ways off :D

I might get one if the PS3 completely sucks. I doubt it though and I've only got room for 2 systeams and I'm definitely buying a Revolution...
One would have to relinquish their "CAGness" if one buys at launch.
Not necessarily, our cagness prevents us from buying the retarded core system.
One would have to relinquish their "CAGness" if one buys at launch.
And why is that? My whopping 10% Target discount will drop the premium bundle $40, and the coupon I get from their credit card will probably drop it another $40. I certainly think that a Premium 360 for $20 more than the Core package will help me retain my CAG status.

I'm getting one at launch at 12am.

Since I work at Wal-Mart, I will be saving one for myself before I leave at 11pm. Then I'll pick it up at 12 and never wait in any lines. :)
One would have to relinquish their "CAGness" if one buys at launch.
nonsense, there are an infinite number of cagly ways to offset the cost of the system.

K-mart, walmart, meijer, toys r us, target, circuitcity, sears, Bestbuy & Kay-bee toys...

Gamerush, EB, & gamesh!t... ain't the only place to get the system... whoever thinks this system is goin to hard to get on launch-day is just joking 2 them self...

Walmart at 12am... core system... probably the premium one if I can come up with the extra $100 (may have to unload some games, but considering most of the games I own are rare prints a la SMT: Nocturne, chances of me selling any of my games is slim to Hell Nall...)

I completed all the requirements at www.free360xbox.com (this is a legit site, run by the same group that did freeipods). Now, the only problem is *when* I will get one, as others have pointed out that it took almost two months for people to receive their free psps after launch (for those who finished before the release). It's even more frightening, considering that Sony had *ample* PSP consoles available at launch, while MS is already getting into the "don't be disappointed if you can't find one" damage control.

The only title I'm dying for at the moment is Oblivion anyway, which isn't out until 12/4.

How many offers did it take? Did you get the good 360 or the lame bare bones one? I guess it doesn't matter though because upgrading with the hard drive, etc. will still be less than buying the thing for $500+

I'd be all over this if I wasn't so disorganized and lazy. Plus, I have no friends (or at least no one who would be willing to help out).

I paid people for referrals; it's basically a pyramid scheme, so while they may lose money sending my a 360, it's easily compensated by the number of people who don't get everything they need and eventually give up.

The 360 takes 8 referrals, which means 8 people have to create an account using your referral link and "complete an offer," which could be as easy (free) as creating an eFax account, or as gutsy as applying for a credit card. It takes a good deal of work to answer people's questions, assure them of the legitimacy, and explain the best offers to do. It tested my patience a lot, to be honest; however, I have spent $60 paying for referrals, so while it isn't a "Free" Xbox 360, it's hella cheap.

Why put it up on E-Bay? Why don't you save the listing fees and just sell it to one of your fellow CAGs.

Nah he is hoping they sky rocket in price like the ps2's did. Why sell it for 400.00 if they are going for 600-800 on ebay.

I'm gonna go to Sam's Club in the morning. I'm pretty sure no one will be there buying a 360. I probably pick 2 up there then head down to my Target and try to score another 2. I'll sell 2 and then give 1 away as a christmas gift.

damn you pimpinc that was my strategy all along. Usually sam's club and costco and other places like those always have bundles available at launch and they actually have pretty good bundles for decent prices. This is how I actually got a psp.

nothnx, I'd rather pay for the system full price myself than participate in pyramid scams that encourage people to go all around msg boards and spam people with thier referral ads.

And for the Core, I really recommend you don't go for it. It will be a really bad investment n the long run. you'll have to spend 20 dollars alone for a memory card if you don't sport for the 99 dollar hard drive. And then u wont get all the other stuff. If you dont have the money for the regular system I recommend you wait.

My mistake; it's for the premium version.

And feel free to pay full price; it's not as if people are spamming here at CAG, where all the pyramid referral schemes are concentrated in one thread (and also note that I didn't link it here). You accusations of spamming are meaningless here.

In the end, though, you'll be paying $340 more for what you have that what I have. That's a lot of quarters you won't be taking to the Peep Shows this holiday season.

Doesn't matter, as a moderater on a couple of forums you get tons of people breaking the rules all the time and it's a pain in the ass to keep moderating threads spamming these referral sites. I even had a guy tell me that they encouraged him to spam it everywhere. Spending a measly $340 to stand by my principles against pyramid scams seems like a small price to pay personally. I find the whole model disgusting and annoying. I hope somone shuts down this loophole that allows these crappy pyramid scams to become legal.

personally I think the whole system turns people into sleazy salesmen. now you have kids spamming boards and popular magazine sites with thier referral links instead of going out and getting a job and really earning that money to buy thier system. Pitiful.

Amen. I thought I was the only one who thought these pyramid scams were a waste. People suddenly turn into car salesmen trying to get people to help them get a free system.
