i just rented this game and it looks like PS1 graphics. the enemy encounter is very high and its just bleh... Im shocked sony would allow this game to come out but they are Blocking so many other Greater rpg games from coming here.

has anyone really put that much time into this game and is it worth playing (i got around an hour into it )

I know people who really like the game, because of it's non-linearity. It's just not a game for everyone. I'd like to get it, but I already have too many RPGs to play and I'm not in the mood for a non-linear RPG.

yea i got tons of rpg games backloged as well that i really should play : )

just picked up monster rancher evo for 20 bucks off ebay. wasnt that great of a game but i didnt think i find it that cheap again

it is becase some guy make a big deal about the game on atlus message and got a bunch of people to supoort it. I would much rather have

I'm about 12 hours into it. Its the stroll in the park that I take when I'm not playing more story oriented, traditional games. It happens to be the best looking game I'm playing at the moment.

Its certainly not for everyone, especially if graphics bother you.

How could you not like Suikoden V. Aside, from the long ass 8 hour intro? It's probably the best Suikoden to date. Nostalgia aside, I really like it. It has very few innovations, but it feels like the people behind this played Sui 1-4, sat down with a piece of paper, and wrote down what they liked best about each of them.

It's battle system is very similar to the old ones in which you have your six man parties and several formations for you to play with. This game looks nothing like the previous two PS2 games. Classic style fighting engine, timed duels and "real-time" battle system. A tactician coming out with weird plans, people working way over our heads, alleigances with second intentions, and one of those hero/childhood friend relationships. It also seems very, very long, if you like that sort of thing. And it doesn't take itself too seriously.

To stay on topic, I will eventually get Metal Saga. I mean there's a dog with a rocket launcher on the box. That alone is enough to sell me a game. It being non-linear helps me want it more. Now if it would only drop in price about $20.

Playing an RPG for one hour is nonsense. Even the big jRPGs take well more than that to get into. Most take at least 3 or 4 to even find a groove of any sort.

It was slow....boring, the gameplay was so easy it was more of an annoyance in continuing the story line, and I didn't like most of the characters.
I started a thread about worst games you ever paid the most money for because of METAL SAGA:

I think this was an opportunity for Atlus to cash in...sort of like Hoshigami: Running Blue Earth or Sky Gunner. They get a 'freebie' on this one from me for every Metal Saga they release is a Ogre Battle or Crusader of Centy.
I liked Sky Gunner... well worth the $10 I paid for it.

Don't mean to toot my own auctions, but I'm selling this on Ebay right now for $34.99, brand new, even cheaper than Gamestop's used price, so anyone who wants to check it out you know where to look ;)
The graphics are great....and I love this game a lot more than the crapfest that's Suikoden V.
What?? Is that why you were so willing to sell it to me?? Haha.
