How do you clean your LCD Screen?

a light vinegar and water solution on a very soft cloth works for me.i smoke cigs and stuff while gaming and my screen gets a ton of it(imo) so i clean it like once a month using this method.i actually googled homemade solutions for cleaning lcds and stumbled across this idea.one thing the article mentioned is its very important to wipe in a gentle top to bottom motion and never in a circular pattern.

I did a little searching and I found a good page about that subject at http://pcsupport.about.com/od/maintenance/ht/cleanflatscreen.htm In regards to the types of cleaning cloth the article recommends, I would sudjust looking at your non scratch cloth options in multiple places at Walmart: in the electronics department, Vision center (if they have one), or even the jewelery department (non scratch jewelery cleaning cloths. I am not sure about using the vinegar and water solution, but defendant agree with that it is "very important to wipe in a gentle top to bottom motion and never in a circular pattern." That is also the recommend motion to use when cleaning your CDs/DVDs starting from the center to outer edges (turning the cd from the edges as you clean).
 
Usually just gently wiping the dust off with a soft cloth is fine- as I don't typically touch my screen ever.

But when it does get dirty I clean it with a 50% ispropyl alcohol solution. I heard that using ethanol is not recommended.

I think the key is to wipe off the dust first, then use a cleaning solution if necessary. And don't press too hard! Dust should not require hard pressure to clean, and when using cleaning solution, let the solvent do the work of removing spots, not pressure. Pressing hard will only increase the danger that a piece of dust or dirt gets scratched into the surface.

The real question is what it is that needs cleaning off your screen.

A salad bar sneeze guard at crotch level might be indicated.
 
I bought some of the monster cleaning solution, probably the only monster product I've ever purchased. It came with a cloth.

I read so many conflicting reports on what to use or not use (windex, rubbing alcohol, homeade solutions, etc.), I eventually just picked a cleaner from the store. I have two computer monitors, + an lcd tv + my ds that I use it on.
 
Yeah I mean the LCD wipes are pretty cheap, I bought a canister that came with 150 wipes for like $3 bucks. It's going to take me forever to go through since I use maybe one or two a week. They are good for wiping off your DS, PSP, Cellphone etc
 
I guess I will use my dad's eye glass micro cloth and either the eye glass spray or if not that then maybe one of those cleaning wipes, will have to see what they contain though. Will post what I find and how it works.
