How fast did Gears of War 2 limited edition drop in price?

I'm debating if I should buy Gears of war 3 limited edition now on release for $80 or not.

If it drops in price fast I may buy the standard edition at $60 and sell it for $30-40 in like a month and buy the limited edition back at a cheap price. Would that work?
 
It was less than 2 months after release that I got it for 40 at Sears but that was the standard. I think it was about 6-8 months later I started seeing the limited getting phased out of stores for a lower price.
