How is Amazon with their return policy?

So yeah long story short: I bought an item. Turns out I didnt need. Kept it anyways because I THOUGHT (yeah my fault) it was over a month already. Turns out I was a couple of days from the return deadline. Now I am 5 days. If I email them if its okay to return it, will they let me?

Oh well my fault but I just thought id ask to see if anyone had this experience.
 
Send them an email. Worse they do is say "no". This seems like on of those issues where the reply you get will depend on who responds.

Amazon in general though goes out of their way to please the customer. They automatically refunded me $20 for my Starcraft 2 CE because it apparently dipped in price after I pre-ordered (and never caught it), and gave me a $10 credit they were offering on Batman: Arkham Asylum that they started offering after my order had shipped.

worst they could do is say no, and this IS my fault (stupid me for not check the date -_-)
 
Amazon has kingly customer service. Ive had a lot of trouble with them before and they will almost always either take your word for it, or give you some kind of credit for their mistake.
