How is Savage (PC game)? Savage 2 looks awesome...

Apparently Savage is freeware now, but I don't have a good resumeable d/l program (Firefoxes kinda sucks, as the d/l will cancel sometimes when I pause and resume it), so I haven't played it yet. I just randomly saw that Savage 2 is in the works, and it looks very cool. Just wondering if anyone has any opinion on this series?

It's an interesting experiment, to say the least. RTS game that quickly and efficiently morphs into FPS frag action. I don't think it excels in either area, but hell, if it's free now - check it out.
