How Long Do You Wear Your Jeans For?

The only reasons I wash jeans is if they smell or get stained. Until one of those two things happen, I usually wear the same pair. I don't keep track of how long but I'm guessing I average close to 2 weeks per pair as long as I don't get sweaty in them or fall in some mud.

I can't remember the last time I washed the jeans I'm wearing right now. I've painted in them, sweat in them, gone out to dinner in them, used them to wipe my hands about a billion times and god knows what else. I'll probably throw them away before they ever see the washing machine. There is nothing worse than putting on freshly washed jeans.

My "work" jeans I will wear once, usually so filthy after a days work, I have, On the weekends, my "good" jeans get worn twice with a febreeze shot in between. Eventually, "good" jeans become "work" jeans. I am considering going to the dickies side though for both. BTW I have 2 jobs, one dirty, one not.

I've got two pairs. A 'nice' pair that I wear out when I need to look nice. Those get washed after every use. Then I have my other pair, which is the work horse pair. 1 a week at most, otherwise I'd have to do laundry more often and that isn't feasible.

Whats with all the stinky jeans comments. What on your lower region is creating an odor? Sweaty Knees? Taint juice?

If you shower and keep clean your jeans shouldnt smell. The only thing i can think of is if you kneel into something or spill something onto you pants.

I do about 5 days per pair of jeans, unless theres a stain they go into the wash instantly.

I wear jeans everywhere, everyday, all year.

My cheap "mall jeans" (mostly Lip Service, but I have a pair of Gap skinny jeans that I really like) I'll wash every few weeks. My expensive jeans (Nudie, Diesel, True Religion) only get washed after six months or so. My first pair of Nudie Jeans I kept on for almost a year; a friend spilled coffee on me so I had to (reluctantly) put 'em in the machine. Bastard.

None of my jeans EVER go in the dryer, though.

3-5 days usually, depending on if I got sweaty in them, spilled something on myself (happens often as I usually eat dinner on the couch) etc.
Who the fuck is paying $100-200 for a pair of jeans!!?!?? The jeans I have on cost $50 and I think that is pushing it.
I once bought a pair of jeans in that range.

Weekly, but I don't profusely sweat or have odors emanating from my body.

I just bought a pair of Japanese denim jeans a few weeks ago and was told to not wash them for 3 months? What? Anyone heard such a thing before? I understand breaking them in and all, but will it really mess with the way the fabric breaks in if I wash it sooner than that?

Sounds like an awfully long time to not wash jeans. Plus they're starting to get stretched out more than I like without being thrown in the wash/dryer.

I usually wear each pair once unless i have none "clean" then i'll wear a "dirty" pair until that night when i get a chance to wash them. But usually i just wear my jeans to my classes, then come home and wear shorts or pajamas around the house. So if i wear a pair of jeans during the week its only for maybe 3 or 4 hours a day so they aren't dirty or anything.

Are they raw/untreated denim? You should wear them regularly for 3-6 months without washing or you risk ruining the fit and color. It may sound funky but I can personally attest to the awesomeness of the jeans after this breaking-in process.

About a week or so, however I never wear them for a full day. I only wear jeans when I go out of the house and wear shorts when I am at home, so it's not like I am wearing them all day for that week.
What's wrong with spending money on clothes if that's what makes someone happy?
Nothing wrong with it, it just seems a little excessive in my book.

I mean, those $550 jeans are as much as I paid for my brand new 42" Panasonic Plasma HDTV. It is only $50 short of what my parents pay for their mortgage every month. You could most likely buy a 360 and PS3 with that same $550 dollars.

See, compared with some of those other things, it makes buying a $500 pair of jeans seem kind of insane. But hey, if it makes you happy and you have the money, that is cool.

like you can buy a cheap commuter car, or you can buy a car that performs well becoz u drive a lot and kinda enjoy it, or u can buy a Rolls Royce.

Problem with paying hundreds of dollars for a single clothing item is that they eventually get holes in them. It's like going to a farmer's market and paying $75 for a carrot. It's a consumable item, or at least something that degrades through use (pants more than shirts/etc., of course).

Now, paying for a tux/suit is cool, because as much as you use it, it's always going to be in good shape. But paying $750 for jeans is just plain retarded. Unless they're your "special jeans" that you only get out when the Detroit Lions make the playoffs.

I've been looking to get a pair of Japanese denims but have a hard time finding a pair I want to invest in. Are they worth it?

Has anyone tried reversible jeans? I know of someone who got one for around $500.

I don't know about that. If you take care of your clothes and don't have any accidents with knives or other sharp objects, jeans will remain hole-less for quite some time (decades?)

I have adopted a wash em when they are fallin apart mentality with my jeans. Looking forward to see how the fit adjusts over the next 2 or 3 months without a wash. I am pretty excited about this since I HATE washing my jeans.

The knee area, in particular, doesn't seem to get as stretched out and thin as my other pair after a few times on.

I don't wear the same pair two days in a row (unless I only used them for a quick store run or something), but I'll pull pairs out of the hamper four or five times before I actually get around to washing them.
