How many of the 162 US DS games do you own?
certainly, that person could just be an asshole, and there's plenty of that here too.
Now I just know you are talking crazy, 'cause no way THAT is true .

Seriously, Doc, good post!

If someone wants to collect all the games for a system why does this offend anyone or cause them to lash out at the collector? It doesn't make sense to me. Anyways, I don't have a DS yet but am thinking of getting one. So I have zero DS games at the moment.
I think the point was that there is no point to having all those games in the first place.
That's exactly my point.

I have eight games and I do want more games but everytime I look at my stack of games, I see squandered money. And then I think about a game I want in the future and how I desire it so. It's frustrating to want something and always either find some lucrative way to make money (EB trade-in or of the sort or some coupon) or to live without.

here are a few terrible pics of a section of my collection i'll work on getting better ones another time

its blurry i know but those are my games from the last 365 days.... err well most of em from the last year. Those stacks are roughly ten feet high (the ceiling is right above them.

Magus, I know this is none of my business, but i'm just curious...where do you work? What is your lifestyle like so that you can afford all of those games?
20 games! Yes! total played...zero! Yes!
TRhat's almost as bad as having 160+ DS games for no reason.

I just bought my DS recently. So right now, I only have two:

New Super Mario Bros.
Mario Kart DS

I really like the system & more games are sure to be added in to my DS collection in the future.

Counting the Metroid demo and Zelda GC trailer but NOT the dupes between the wife and I, I personally own 45 DS games.

I think my DS collection is one of the better-rounded of my console libraries -- crappy freebies and bad review titles (Puffy Amiyumi, Tenchu DS) notwithstanding. The system has a lot of great games.

And by the way, mad props to Doc Ramon for his expertly crafted post regarding the haters. He got his point across and defended himself without getting nasty. :applause:

Just got my cute, pink DS on Friday and picked up 4 games. I bought 2 the week before I had my DS, so my total collection is 6. I've played 4 cause I had a really busy weekend that didn't include any time for video games

Thanks to CAG my XBox collection went from about 15 to around 60 this spring and summer.

Xbox is my first console and DS is my first handheld I've ever owned, so maybe, at 41, I'm making up for lost time.

I try to buy games I will play, either that score really well or don't score so high but look interesting to play. Maybe 70% and above at GameRankings.com.

At 60 my Xbox collection seems a bit big for me to handle, but I figure there are maybe 10 more I want. And they will stop making them soon. So I'll have those 70 or so to play for a long time to come.

I'm looking forward to the fall and Xmas sales to add to my DS collection. It looks like a lot of great games are on the horizon.

I own 21 DS games. I'll be over at Best Buy tomorrow to pick up Clubhouse Games, which will be my 22nd game.

It's very rare for me to own so many games so early on in a console's life-cycle. The DS's promise for a new way to play games keeps keeps me buying new games - I just can't wait to see what each developer has done with the unique control scheme. The amazing thing about my 'collection' is that no 2 games are alike. It seems that each game is of a completely different genre, control scheme, or gameplay mechanic. Of course, since it's on the DS, it's also unlike any other game across my entire gaming collection. For me, that speaks loads about the DS as a gaming platform.

Think ive been stuck at 35 since.....new super mario bros? Thats the last game i bought. Most of my games were clearanced though, and i dont think i bought any at full retail price. I want to sign up to that DS page you guys have been linking but they dont take hotmail, yahoo, or gmail :/ only ones i use

Out of the 35-40 games i own, ive beaten

Phoneix Wright
Trauma Center
New Super Mario Bros
Ouendan
Jump Superstars
Wario Ware
Sonic Rush
Castlevania

All of these games were definetely worth the time, and are locked into to my collection since my save files are on there lol.

Many DS games simply can't be "beaten," but here's my approximation for the 45 I own:
Animal Crossing
Big Brain Academy
Brain Age
Castlevania: Dawn/Sorrow
Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2
Metroid Prime Pinball
New Super Mario Bros.
Polarium
Tetris DS
Wario Ware: Touched

I have 22, and probably had more, but there was a point when I decided I wouldn't play those other games and would rather save up for the future.

Out of the 22, the ones I have finished (can you really finish tetris?) are:
New Super Mario Brox.
Phoenix Wright
Tetris DS
Mario Kart DS
Zoo Keeper
Feel the Magic
Rub Rabbits

I stopped playing my ds for a while now since my commute went from a 30 minute train ride to 15 minutes door to door.

Doc, congrats on the collection, that's pretty sweet. Reminds me of when that kid bjeong was trying to collect every single gamecube game made.

I have a short-list of DS games that I've always been interested in, but don't have enough interest to pay for... since we have some collectors in this thread, I'm wondering if anyone can offer some quick impressions of the following:
- Monkey Ball DS
- True Swing Golf
- Point Blank
- Pac n Roll
- Dig Dug

Most of these games received luke-warm reviews (and can usually be found for

cough....see the collecting games post on page 3....I collect games that I want to play. I also try to get them before ebay finds out they are rare and then you have to pay 2 or 3 times what they are really worth....

as for the DS games, I want to play them...but i want to finish my GBA ones....I do not want to go back and forth between the graphics

and if i could find more time between the playoffs (Lets Go Mets GO) and hanging out after work I might actually dent it.
