How many people here use public transportation?

I used to take a bus to school in Bangkok.. it was HELL :) but a good experience! Then, the bus in Alaska was AWESOME, where the bustop usually cover with 3 feet snow... good times! now.. I take train sometime.. but mostly drive around myself.. i'm too old ;)
Oh, I forgot to add. The public transportation in Denver is by FAR the best of any i've ever used.
At least you have a public transportation system!

We have no subway and the buses are a joke. And taxis are a waste. One time, I was flying back from either Phoenix or Chicago and it was a nice summer evening and I only had a light backpack (I wasn't out of town long). I decided to save the >$20 (not including tip) and walked the 7 miles home. It was nice exercise and I stopped and had a bite on the way home. (Took just over two hours.)

With the exception of work, I'd use a mass transit system if it was available. That's what I love about Toronto; whenever I'm there, a day-pass gets me anywhere I want to go and I don't have to deal with parking (another lousy thing about Detroit...)

This is like a trick question for me. I live in southeastern Michigan. There is no public transportation around here. I know of ONE bus route around where I live. And thats it. Stupid auto companies control Michigan, so they put the axe to public trans. More cars!
