Anyone already have it completely paid off, along with the launch games of your choice? I myself have $336 down towards it at GameStop. Not bad when only $100 of it is actual money I put down, and the rest is trade in credit.

So far I have $58 in Paypal $$ and an additional $150 saved for it plus $50 reserve so I am at $258. I figure I will need about $650 at launch to buy with 3 games and some accesories

i have the 399 package reserved, along with 4 games, memory unit, and play & charge kit... all fully paid for with an abundance of Trade in credits ^_^

340$ towards the 399$ package.

I'm happy about that, considering a huge chunk of that was through trade-in promo deals... (such as pay 20$, turn around and trade the games in for 50$, etc.) Looking forward to it.

Wait for a price drop? Even if the system DOES drop in price next year around Oct or Nov, it will be the core bundle that will drop. You'll still have to buy the HDD for $100 or a Memory Card for $50.

I'm still debating picking it up at launch or waiting for the first price drop.
Yeah I'm in the same boat. Originally I wanted to get it at launch but I don't know if I can afford dropping $500 on it and a game at launch. I'll have to spend around $16,000+ when I transfer in the fall. Right now I'm only going to a branch campus so it's cheap but next year all my $$$ and then some will be gone :whistle2:(

OK, why are people posting "I'm not gonna buy it" in here? If you aren't going to buy one, why bother coming in this type of thread, or even coming into the Xbox 360 forum to begin with?

I can't wait for oblivion and gears of war. They look like they will be two of the greatest games ever. especially oblvion...

I have XBOX360 premium + 6 games on preorder. Going to charge them but I should have the cash to cover it by then.
$0. I don't need to "save up" to get a console. I just buy it.
Word. Also, trade-in credit is still money out of pocket (and probably more money than the trade-in is worth) so I don't know why that factors into the equation. It's like when people go gambling and win $1,000 on the first hand and then lose it throughout the rest of the night and say "well, it was their money" - no it wasn't, it was yours and you just lost $1,000.

Ah but with tradeins it saves a boatload of time from selling something on eBay or the like, and its much easier. Not to mention with games that arent worth much you often do better on tradein.

yeah but at some point in time you had to acquire the game you are trading in and that was money out of pocket. I guess you could look at it as an extended rental (the rental price being the difference between what you paid initially and the trade-in value) but either way you are still giving up something of value that goes towards the 360 credit. I don't know how to quantify it exactly but I know that when someone says they have $400 down on the 360 and $300 of that is from trade-ins they are still paying way more than $100 to get the system...

Actually, I spent $100 on cheap games and then traded them in for $500 in store-credit at GameRush. It was a beautiful thing. So I was going to get my 360 for under $100, but since I won one, I'm just using all that credit for 360 games and accessories now.

OK, you win. That is a beautiful thing - what games were getting you more than you paid?

not at gamerush. :)

I have $20 down, but it's going to be a huge christmas present, so that's cool. I can work on games now. My first targets are Perfect Dark: Zero, Oblivion, Saint's Row and Condemned.. then probably.. what's it called.. Dead Rising? Dead Rush? Whatever that game is where you're the dude in the mall, I cannot wait for that game!

Earlier in the summer there were a ton of good trade-in possibilities at GameRush and they had their extra $5 per game trade-in deal going on. GunGriffon for Xbox was a nice one back then because it got you $25 in credit and it was only $5 at EB. King Of Fighters: Maximum Impact was getting $30 in credit and was only $10 at Meijer. Nightmare of Druaga was getting $25 or $30 and was $10 at EB. It was pretty nice.

Wow, too bad there's no GameRush or Meijer around here (that I know of). That's a deal worth taking advantage of if you can.

I've got my system paid off except for tax. I've also got $5 down on Elder Scrolls (my EB has a SKU for a Collector's edition of Elder Scrolls, has anyone else heard of that?)

I have exactly $5 prepaid on PDZ but i'm going to switch it to something else and I have GR3 paid off in full at GR (used 29.99 deal).

I'm buying 3 games at launch so I only need to come up with another $115 plus tax at launch, assuming they are $60 each.

THANK YOU Mountain Dew! :)

Have the system paid off, didn't spend a penny, just traded in crap old games I was given over time from family and friends for free in the first place.

I am going this weekend I believe to pre-order Elder Scrolls and PDZ. And an extra wireless controller at ebgames if you can even preorder accessories.

I will be getting mine for free but I still need to save up for games... $60 is way to expensive. $40 is a fair price to both the seller and the buyer IMO.
