usually i spend between 5 and 10 on a game, unless its something really good.

exceptions:

i paid 15 for sonic mega collection
40 for culdcept

well ill pay full price for a new release but it has to be something awesome and something i know wont drop in price too fast..example nintendo first party games.

other than that illl pretty much scour the internet looking for cheap prices..

I make out well with this site, and honestly can't remember the last time I paid $50 for anything. I tend to miss a lot of the $5 deals because the stores around here suck. There's four best buys in driving distance but each one is an hour away. The stores we do have, tend to be on the bottom of the food chain for their respective corporations, and a lot of stock gets shipped to stores doing more business before the really good sales hit.

Most times I'll spend 10-20 on a game, unless I can find it cheaper.

There are a few games that I'll shell the full amount for though. Examples from the past year would be F-Zero GX, Viewtiful Joe, Harvest Moon, TopSpin Tennis, and Ultimate Muscle.

I guess it just depends on how excited I am for a game.

Still debating on Riddick. Want to see some more reviews besides IGN.

And I'm always looking at my backlog of games and wondering if its smart to buy new ones.
I've still only played Steel Battalion 3 times now. Assembling that controller can be quite the task.

I save a lot of money by focusing on my NES and Dreamcast collections, I buy games in lots and spend very little per game that way.

hey whats up im new here but anyway...
i pay 10-20 bucks unless its a game that I must have when it comes out like Grand Theft auto or WWE smackdown games

Well, technically I don't have to pay anything, but the person buying the games only buys a game when it first comes out if its something we totally have to play. This will be an expensive Christmas with Halo 2, Resident Evil 4, and MGS 3, assuming they all come out this year.

I swear I never voted in this poll, but when I clicked on the thread all it showed me was the results. Anyway, I average $12 per game for current consoles. Some I pay more, some less. Not many are worth more, although I've paid it and regretted it. It's funny how this poll result EXACTLY duplicates the pricepoint of the Platinum, and greatest hits line. I think hte game companies know more than we think they know...

Ever since I came to this site I sift through the bargain bins and closeout games...Recently I havent spent more than prolly 15 on a game...I am still broke from buying cheapass games and still want more...But owell...Atleast I have more games and not just ONE...I cant believe I used to spend 50 bucks on a game...jeez

when a game comes out i really want i ussualy try and see if i can get it on TGN for 35. But i have spend full price on games when i couldnt wait

When a new game comes out and there's no deal going on for it (like free gift cards or rebates), then I will usually pay full price for it.

Usually around $5, I used to spend up to $10 normally but with the $3 games at EB a few weeks ago and the Best Buy clearance, anything over $4.99 is too much.

The only exception for me is imports which I will pay regular price for because it's hard not to especially with rarer games like I just bought Pop N Music 8 for PS2 for $65 plus shipping but there was no way to get it for less.

The average for me is $10-$15. I have absolutely no business paying any more with the amount of unplayed games in my collection. The only possible future full price purchases this year for me will probably only be halo 2 or the new gta.

I usually spend about $10-$20 but the budget's kind of tight these days so I'm trying to keep the games to around $5 each, or preferably just through trades.
bfg9k: I like the way you have your collection. One for demos, and one for actual games. Very cool.
Thx! I didn't want the demos included in the total count of the "real" games so obviously I listed them separately.

My average is around $10. Every once in a while I will spend $15(GGC games and price drops like F-zero), and rarely $20 (suckered into "rare" games like Skies of Arcadia and Cubivore) But along with games that I get for ~$5 it averages out to around 10. It all depends on the game too. If its a game I really want I will pay wait til I see it for $15 maybe $20. I will buy almost any game I am mildly interested in for $10, and almost anything goes for $5.

the same with me. I see no reason to go out and blow $50 on a game that I might not play.

on the other hand if there's a game I really want and there doesn't seem to be a price drop emminet (like disgaea) I'll prob trade games in and spend $40-50 Credit on it.

I think I've averaged about $16 for my PS2 and GC games, but for the most part ever since I found this site I won't spend more than $15 on a game.

After visiting this site, I have not spent more than $30 (including taxes) on a single video game. My average, though, is right around $10 a game.
