How much does a FF7 strategy guide go for?

I checked Ebay and the prices range on this guide from $7 to $119. Are they rare are what? I was wondering whats a fair price on a FF7 guide in great condition because I'm looking to sell one?
 
I have one and would say about 20 dollars, but apparently the mark that says "1,000,000 units in print" on the new guides warrants us charging 100 dollars for our older guides... I think it's stupid, they're on amazon.com for like 15 dollars...
 
That $119 guide on ebay is different from the ones that usually comes up. It's brand new and I guess it's rare but I've never seen it before in my life.
 
....apparently it's gone. It had a BIN price of about $119 and someone bought it or it was taken off cuz it's not showing up on the search results anymore.

I can't remember the exact title but it was something like Final Fantasy 7 Ultimate Strategy Guide and it had Cloud on the cover facing forward and smiling on a black background.

That guide is the only US released guide worth getting. The VERSUS line of guides was phenomenal.

That was also their first guide they ever made, and their best.

Wow, and to think I was just about to throw away this guide in favor of a Brady one!!!!!!!! O.O I'm so sad...I've never looked at the smaller, 'alternative' companies/publishers. -_-;;;;;;;; I gotta start opening my eyes!
 
Why would a guide go for so much? Hell, why even buy a guide? I mean if you are going to ruin the game by using a guide, go to gamefaqs and get a free one.
 
Yeah I agree, I dont believe buying guides either, if I get stuck in a game a just search it on the net and find out what I need to do, which reminds me I need to do a search on Onimusha 3, to see what I got to finish getting to beat the game completely, oops off-topic my bad
 
Some guides are worth getting because they are well put together, and, at the very least, they are nice to look at (great toilet reading).
 
Yeah. Easier than scrolling through 200 pages of text (Faqs). I get guides cheap all the time and Ive only payed full price for one guide which was suikoden II.
 
WOW... that ebay versus guide is the exacy same one i have... too bad mine is not in the best of condition :x

I do agree... the versus guide towered head an shoulders above the "official" guides out there, everything was mapped out much better with much more pictures
 
I loved that versus guide. My cousin had one and I eventually got one a few years back from funcoland, for like 6.99.. No idea it was worth that much.

It's an incredible guide though. Very well written and designed.

Speaking of EBAY and guides.. When I sold Lunar Silver Star Complete, I included the official guide, but it was only cause I found it after starting the auction.

Found out later, the official LSSC guide goes for about $50 alone, more than the game sells for.. d'oh! ](*,)
 
there is never a 'rare' guide~ it is just a rip off man. even the guide is original japan printed version it won't cost that much
 
That particular guide IS rare, and WILL go for a lot of money. Versus guides were never reprinted, and now they are defunct. But mainly, it would demand a high price because it's the best guide for that game, and it's very easy on the eyes.
 
if the guide really costs that much I'm amazed that someone hasn't scaned it and made it into a PDF so that everyone can get it.

I bought this guide way back when FF7 first came out--but I gave it to a friend after I was done with it.

I feel sick. . . :puke:
