I want to get rid of these things, because they are just eatting up space. Some of you long time Cag's probably know I had a decent stockpile of these.

For those who are interested, check my gallery, page 5 currently. It shows some of my video game hauls, which is how i built my inventory.
I had close to 40 of these at one time, but have slowly sold them all, which is why I am out of controllers and RF/vid adapters. These run about 5 each on ebay.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As of now I have at least 6 tested Model 1 Sega Saturns, with Power cord only.

I have 2-3 Moded System 2 models.

Also I have 8 mods for system 2 left over, ordered from liksang in 2001

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How much do you guys think I should sell these things for?

It looks that a complete system goes for about 40-45 shipped on avg at ebay.

Sorry, not going to give them away, or sell them for 2 dollars :)

Shipping would be about 10.00, :( , I shipped one yesterday.

Saturns are great systems with some of the best RPGS exclusive to that system. Any real game collector/player should have one!

which is model 2? how much would you want for a mod? how hard to install would it be?

i assume that the mod would allow japanese games to be played, correct?

What about thoughts on just the system with the power cord only?

Casey the saturn is pretty durable, when I was repairing systems 16 and 32 bit gen, i rarey had any that had any probs, except for the cd clip. nothing like the 1st playstation models. If you find yours and it doesnt work, pm and maybe we can troubleshoot it.

Model 2 systems have round power and reset buttons, model 1 systems are really hard to find mods for. In addition model one mods were sodderless.

The mods require 2 sodder points, so its pretty easy to install. They run about 18 shipped. The modded systems that I have still work, and the one mod I traded here about 6 months ago, the buyer was able to get it to work. I just dont really have a way to test them, so I don't mind getting rid of them cheaply.

In 2001 I sold the saturns on yahoo auctions, when they allowed it, for 260-280 a piece. So Im not really taking a loss here by getting rid of whats left.

The mods disable the copy protection check, so burns can be played. However to play imports, you will need to get a card that goes into the slot near the back of the system. Or you can run a program that changes the country info in the iso before you burn it.

If you get a card to go in the back, look for one that also has the ram upgrade and extra memory for saved games.

Saturns have built in memory for saved games.

You can also bridge a connection by soddering on the mainboard of the saturn to change its country designation. But only 1 can be used at a time.

hopefully all this made sense.

ah, nevermind then, i dont know how to sodder and i mainly want to play imports (yes i know, just buy an action replay Xop)

If you do, make sure you get a real action replay, and not generic. I had a generic one which would start messing up for the ram part after about 30 mins of playing xmen vs street fighter. I also found that lots of other people had problems with the generic one. Also try to find one with a 1-4 meg switch, 1 for the snk games, and 4 for the capcom ones.

So do you guys think 15 in cash or trade value would be good?
What do you guys think I should do about the mods?

I keep getting a drive door open error. I had it initially and fixed it by resetting the laser and rebuilding the drive door.

Less than 6 months later I get the same problem. I tried to reset the laser and that did nothing. the drive door is not bent out or anything and is sitting where it is supposed to.

I think I may hit up the flea markets and pawn shops this weekend to see about getting another one, but if you can think of what the problem may be, I would love to just fix mine (really want to play some Samurai Showdown 3 and Die Hard Arcade)

The switch to wear the door connects with, to signal its shut is towards the upper left corner, try holding it down and starting the system with the cover off. Be careful next to shock yourself. You can tape the switch, use a rubber band, or hold it with your finger. To the left of the switch is the power board... Yes I shocked myself, after fixing dozens of systems I have manage to shock myself on an xbox, ps1, saturn :)

If you find a part thats broken, etc let me know, I have a broken saturn here, all you would have to pay is shipping cost.
