posted at xbox-scene.com:
anyone reading this should know, back when i was selling a new crystal xbox for 235 + shipping.

well a guy named IcemanMods scammed me 35 + 10 shipping cost bucks. i sold it for 200, and he said after he recieves the payment, he will send the other 35 + 10. tracked the UPS number, says it arrived. now he goes and blocks all my SN's on AIM and tells me to stop harassing him and thrreatning him. all i said is that if i didnt recieve the rest of the payment for the shipping, then i will make mail fraud report. can i do this? i know many of you dont care. but

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=282926&hl=

thats the post. so after a while, i only got 200 bucks for a NEW crystal xbox, i hope i get hte payment. am i allowed to do anything? or did i just got fucked over. well to let you guys no not to sell stuff to this guy. he said him and his bro were looking at the log and said i agreed tro 200 bucks. trying to rip me and shit.

so question is, am i allowed to do anything?

And the lesson is: Always get the money up front. All of it. If they can't afford to send it all at once, forget 'em, there will be someone else who CAN afford it.

Chances are there is nothing you can do here.

I got jipped for $44 on some game in June via eBay; I forgot which. fuckin' Paypal wouldn't cover it, and eBay wouldn't give me their protection because AFTER I paid, the guy got -2 feedback and was banned, so eBay didn't reimburse. fuckers.

It may not be much, but I am pretty sure someone on here has ripped me off. A while back (sealed the deal on Sept. 6) I agreed to pay rsigley money for a PS2 Network Adapter. I paid by money order. I still haven't received the Adapter, and he will not reply to my PM's. The money order has been cashed, and I will soon be leaving him negative feedback here. I also sent him a letter through the mail, and still no response. The feedback probably won't matter, becuase I haven't seen him on the site for quite some time. Man I am now in a bad mood. :bomb:

happened to me twice in two months. Main reason i did not trade for like two months.
Sorry to hear that, Rig. That really sucks. Hope you didn't lose too much. :(
Thanks Trakan.

Pretty sure I will only trade/sell with people that have lots of feedback from now on.
That's why I don't accept bids from people with 0 feedback.
If you were talking about mine daphatty, (and I don't know if you were) I probably shouldn't have made the trade since he had 0 feedback. However, I also had 0 feedback, and I like to trust in people. This was also the first time I had been burned. I buy a lot on ebay, even from those with zero feedback, and this is the first problem I have had.

Yeah; I've since stopped dealing with people with under 10 feedback and less than 99% unless there is an extenuating circumstance.

I ordered a watch and a necklace off of Hiphopjewels.com for $50 back in the day. I got the confirmation e-mail, but didn't get my ish. I e-mailed the guy, called him up a couple of times. Each time he said that he had no record of the transaction. I wish I knew I could've taken some action...if only CAG existed 6 years ago.
I never buy videogames off of Ebay. I just dont trust anyone.
You're missing out. I've saved more money that the $44 I lost by buying on eBay.

I got scammed $32 on ebay once. It took me forever to convince my Dad to let me buy something off ebay, and just my fucking luck, I got ripped off. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do anything on ebay after that incident. Damn, I hate jerk-off's like ppl who rip others off.

"How much have you been scammed/jipped/rip etc (i lost cry. xbox)"

First of all, how did you lose an xbox when you received 200 bucks up front? Along with the $10.85 shipping?

Your original XS post asked for 235 plus ship, I told you I wanted it for that price, then I noticed you were unconfirmed. My partner who also happens to be my brother said we would NOT buy from an unconfirmed seller. I talked him into purchasing it after talking to you online, he and I agreed on $200, you agreed on AIM to $200. After I paid I asked you to send it the next day, you waited a few days which I dont really care about. I received the xbox in excellent condtion as you stated, the copy of the halo NTSCJ was crushed, but didnt really care about it.

me and my brother got online later that evening , he opened his email and noticed a paypal request for 50 dollars, he asked me what it was for I told him I had no idea, whats the persons name. He told me, so I said how the hell is shipping 50 dollars??? He sent UPS ground and had even told me it was 10 bucks or so.

I then logged on my aim and he starts telling me I scammed him, and he wants his 50 bucks, 35 plus 10.85 I told him to go ahead and fix his math then remember he agreed to 10.85 and 200, if anything I TOOK the risk. I paid 200 bucks for an xbox that was re released en masse in europe for around 200 american.

This kid proceeds to jump on ebay and contact us via ebay "contact a meber" and spams us again, emails us, and sends us 7 more paypal money requests. I ignore him, and send him the 10.85 and write it off as some stupid ****ing kid who has nothing better to do than cry that he made a deal then wanted to renig, his mother even emailed me. Hes telling me he wants to contact the IFCC, I told him to go ahead, they will only laugh at him.

He has posted on x-s scene only to be moderated by the moderators for his constant spam. He is probably banned, who knows. He repeatedly made the same post he's made here.

I only noticed this post because of the traffic I have coming to my site form this board, I appreciate the Hits Mousin. Keep it up, hit every website out there for me bud.

Everybody who mentions that they are buying from me because of this post gets 10% off any item from my website, even the High end Xbox mods, just include his name and email when buying. Oh... and by the way mousin, if you want to purchase you need to add 10%, and be confirmed. Then after you order we are goign to ask for more money, you know since you might scam us after YOU pay.

This isn't so much a rip-off story but it's a story that sucked for my buddy and me. It was probably the worst night of my life, so let me start at the start.

It's an epic day -- 11:30 on 9/8/99. We leave to go to the local Gamestop (maybe it was Software, Etc. back then?) for a midnight sale of the Dreamcast. I think it was a Wednesday night. We planned on buying it and skipping school the next day .. you know, spend the night at his house and just .. not .. go. It didn't work out so well.

We get there and the place is mobbed. Tons of people and a lot of them are morons. We get out around one o'clock, with a Dreamcast, an extra controller, Power Stone, and a few other games. I forget which.

On the way back I get a flat tire. We're dying to play the DC but can't get home. Can't call the parents because they didn't know we were out. So I pull to a gas station and have to change it myself. Not so bad, I'd done it once before with my stepdad. Anyway, we get the spare tire on around 2 o'clock and head back to my buddy's house.

We get home and I park in front of his house, on the street. Not two seconds after we're out of the car, two huge guys run at us screaming, shove me down, then my friend. They grab the bag with the DC+games+controllers and take off down the street, hop in a car and amscray. Power Stone falls out of the bag, as well as a controller, but the overall loss is well over $300 (console + 2-3 games) and pride. And blood because they beat my friend up.

I'd say that was the worst loss we'd had with gaming. Luckily I had chosen not to pick up FF8 that night (I waited until the next morning) or I'd have lost something too. Moral of the story? Beware midnight sales, always park in the driveway, and carry a knife at all times.

Don't feel too bad though, my buddy complained to his mom and she bought him a new DC the next morning.

Other than that, once I personally got scammed on eBay and lost 90 bucks on a replica of Squall's jacket from FF8.

well you have to start somewhere. i can't really blame any of you, but you all started at 0 feedback on here at one point too. i like to be a trusting person most of the time even though i have had a few things stolen from me. they weren't really big or anything like now they are worth maybe $10 total. before when the were first around (n64 games), i could have made like $30-$40 if i sold them. i try to give most people a chance. maybe if you did a deal with someone that had 0 feedback where you sold them something (they pay first of course),then that might help out some.

well maybe not..

he starts an account just to flame me, i dont care anymore. hope his xbox dies on him. =D i have a grudge agaisnt him for my 35 bucks.

you diddnt have to come here, make an account, and starting buzzing about how you ripped me off. i dont care if my mom got involved, she knew about it. and was mad cause i lost 35 bucks to someone i couldnt trust. all my fault, but iceman, you really shouldnt be here after what you did. i dont care about you and your "partner" just get out of here if all your going to do is flame on about how you got a deal with 200 bucks + shipping on my xbox.
